Do not deal with this company, they have horrible customer service. I have a full email string of excuses from Samantha to prove their customer service. First off the initial meeting was good, the owner of the company came to the house, adhered to social distancing showed my wife and I samples everything was great, he measured the windows and we ordered the shades. We were told 4-6 weeks to get the shades which was totally fine, while getting to the end of the timeframe my emailed several times with no response from the office for an installation date, after several phone calls we got our date. With date/time set the installer did not show up, after waiting for over an hour and half I called the office to be told he would be there in 5 minutes an hour later he showed up. I do have to say that the installer is great, he takes his time and explains things very well......unfortunately Craig (the owner) miss-measured all three blinds and sent the installer with the wrong kind of trim, so after waiting over two hours for the installer with no phone call, he couldn't do the install. He promised me that he would be back in two days and again the appointment was set, again the installer was late and there was no phone call. The end result was a good install and we are happy with the shutters. We waited 2 weeks to get the final bill and it was then sent to the wrong email address twice, I was then told that I was 16 days past due on my payment. I explained to smart shutters Canada the inconvenience that they caused me as I had to move my own work appointments around due to the installer being late and the wrong product being ordered, I asked for a discount on the final bill to compensate me in a small way as I lost money. I was met with an email full of excuses that then got hostile (I'll be happy to share the email with anyone that would like to see what their customer service is all about. From my position an offering of $25 on the bill would have been fine with me, instead I was told that I am overdue on my billing (which is paid) and that there is nothing that they can do....so in the end the bill will be paid, they need the money more than me I suppose. Customer service is not this companies strong point, the product is very decent for the price, the installer is good, the office staff does not return emails or phone calls unless it pertains to money. I have more windows to do in my house, Smart Shutters has done the rest of my house, they won't however be coming back to do the rest.
