North Shield Windows And Doors

Received a grrat service from everyone I dealt with. The estimator was very informative and the labourd were respectful, clean (for construction) and fast. Job was done in 1 day instead of 2. Quality work at a very competitive price. I got from 4 differnet companies, very hapoy I chose Northshield.

North Shield replaced all the windows (6) and doors (2 primary and 2 sliding) in my home. The previous materials were installed when the house was built in 1992, and were pretty low quality. North Shield talked through the options and products. They provided opinions when asked, but weren't forceful. I talked to multiple vendors and the other vendors did more upselling and were less respectful of their peers.

The installation team was professional and polite. They were able to answer the few questions I had.

The windows and doors look good, and all the obvious drafts are gone. I haven't lived with them through a winter yet, but I'll try to update once I have.

Service and installation were excellent. We are very satisfied with the windows. Flashing and caulking was also done very well.

From start to end Alex has been very straightforward and had the best prices for quality. I had call roughly 15 other window companies and none came close for pricing. The other companies were pushing and claiming costs were increasing in 2 weeks and to give them a deposit. Alex took the time and effort to guide us through the entire project answered multiple questions over a period of 5 months. The day of installation the team were professional and took care of the entire project from start to end including ensuring the house was cleaned of the debris from the installation.

We had 9 windows and 2 doors installed in 1 day. Everything went smoothly and efficiently, clean up was spotless. Workers were respectful and friendly. They even helped us remove some old side panels from the house.

I was a bit skeptical about doing retrofitted windows at first but the product looked flawless and exceeded every expectation I had. I was worried that we'd lose window space and sunlight but they look larger than ever.

The black trim makes the house (1970s) look modern.

Alex was fast to come out and quote on the work and was friendly and knowledgeable. There was supply issues to get the parts but we were in no rush and the company cannot possibly be blamed for COVID.
They called to book the install when the door was in and their guys had the whole thing done in hours with the old door taken away and a clean work area left behind.

We were seeking to replace three drafty 20-year old double-hung vinyl windows and install a new rear screen door. North Shield promptly followed-up and scheduled a consultation with Alex, who walked us through various options, asked questions and provided sound advice. We landed, in the end, on casement windows to maximize energy efficiency and ventilation. In the rear bedroom Alex recommended that we replace a particularly wide (and heavy) double-hung window that was particularly drafty and difficult to open with a combined fixed pane and casement, which is much easier to operate. The installation happened on budget and on time, in a single day with a minimum of disruption. We are pleased with our replacement windows and will not hesitate to work with North Shield again when the time comes to replace our other older windows.
