Hunter Douglas Blinds

We placed our order with Sunshine Window Fashions in early December. We had looked around and decided we wanted to go with the Hunter Douglas blinds and wanted to also support a local business not a big box store. When Matt came to the house to measure and take our order he was very polite and reassuring that customer service was their #1 priority. He said that we would have our blinds in time for Christmas. After some haggling, they came to install the blinds on December 24th only to discover that some of the components were missing and the blinds could not be installed. There was no communication made to head office and payment for the amount due was automatically taken from our credit card. When this was made aware to the company in January, they assured us that the amount would be refunded - to date (June 7), this has still not happened.

After 3 weeks, they had yet to locate the missing pieces. Finally in February we had an appointment made to install our blinds. This was cancelled as the parts were still missing. We got another appointment and the installer (Rob) showed up on time with all the parts. Halfway through the installation though he realized that the shutters for our living room were not measured correctly and were 4inches too short. We were told by Matt that a rush would be put on our order. After 2 weeks we still had no shutters. I called Matt again and he said that the order had been "misplaced" and was going to be rushed.

We were again rescheduled for an installation two times that were both cancelled. The most recent one of April 12 was cancelled because they discovered that parts were still missing from the order.

The staff at the office on Avenue Road know nothing and are of very little help in providing any customer assistance or service. I have had to do constant monitoring and follow-up to try to get our money refunded and our shutters installed. I am hoping sometime before next December to have them in.

I would NOT recommend this company at all. It has been a terrible and frustrating experience. AVOID them at all costs.

What a terrible experience you have had. I hope that at some point you had some resolution. There was a change in ownership as of 2013. Sunshine Window Fashions is located in Aurora and is not affiliated with any other location. If there is anything we can assist you with in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us.
