Pacific Restoration & Sandblasting-Chemical Cleaning - No Longer in Business

We live in a 100 year old house in Roncesvalles village and had some major gaps in the pointing on the front of the house. Our energy auditor recommended we get the brick re-pointed. It was also very dirty and we needed to have it cleaned. After getting several quotes from various companies, a lot of them were hesitant to do chemical cleaning, saying they really see varying results.

A Victorian house down the street had recently been completely restored, cleaned and pointed, and looked wonderful. I ended up asking the owner who they used for the service and they said Pacific Restoration.

I called Nick and he quickly sent his father, Jim over to give us a quote. He was very clear, helpful and upfront about the cleaning and possible outcomes on the phone. Jim was over the next morning and gave a very reasonable quote for all the work. It included the front of the house on both first and second levels.

Jim showed up with his partner on time on both days. The first day was the cleaning and sandblasting, he let it dry and came back on day two for the pointing. They did a great job, the brick came out wonderfully and the pointing looks great too. We are noticing less drafts inside due to the fresh mortar and are very pleased.

The only room for improvement was that Jim and partner were a bit sloppy with the leftover sandblasting. There was a huge pile of sand left in the garden, and some mortar that was dripped all over the flashing on the roof over the porch. All-in-all, not a huge deal.

Would definitely recommend Pacific Restoration to anyone wanting brick cleaned and re-pointed. I would have them back again to do the back of the house when we re-do the kitchen!
