Transatlas Moving Service

My wife and I hired Transatlas Moving to do our move from Los Angeles CA to Ottawa ON. They had quoted me $10600 Canadian for 8500 pounds I landed up paying $10984 because I had 8820 pounds . This was the only additional charge.
The crew on pickup were professional fast and very courteous same as the delivery end.
I was picked up on April 4 and delivered on April 12.
This company overall is amazing and highly recommend them . I would use them again

We chose Transatlas Moving to move my retired parents from Miami. They were very happy with the movers. With a short notice, they packed and move their condo smoothly. Their well coordinated work saved us an extra trip to Florida. Their rates were also very reasonable cost the excellent service. We are very happy for moving with Transatlas services.

like any body else, I was worried when looking for a mover , but when I chose Transatlas, my decision was rewarded, starting first day of my move, til my goods get delivered at destination.
I was impressed of the way all my belongings were packed, well protected, and handled the right way.. What a great moving team.
I do abviously recommand this moving team to any one.

We sold our house in Florida and had to move all the furniture back to Montreal. I got 5 quotes. Three of the quotes gave me the same pick up date which I felt was a little weird. I found out that the three trucking companies in Florida were using TransAtlas for the move so I called TransAtlas. Their quote was lower for the exact same service. There had been some negative reviews on the internet so I was concerned. I personally went to see Levant. I suppose it was during the meeting that I started to feel very comfortable with him so I signed a contract. Delivery went extremely well. Nothing broken and they arrived on time and delivered on time. We had taken up less space in the van and he even gave us a refund. We would highly recommend.

We used Transatlas Moving Services for our move to USA. It was A+ moving service. It is a fair size moving company. We were lucky to have the most experienced and friendly moving team. They were like moving factory. All got quickly packed and loaded. We believe to have the most pleasant moving service. They were always smiley despite the hot weather of Florida and our third floor unit. We strongly recommend their services: quality moving service at a very reasonable cost.

First off, they were rude (Levent is the worst!), condescending, and acted like I was a nuisance when I called to ask simple questions like, "Do you have a date for the arrival of my move". And, they misplaced my bicycle. They did not even check the manifest to make sure everything had been delivered, and I had to call them and ask them to find my bicycle. That is a testament to their bumbling incompetence.

But, my main complaint is the damaged furniture. It was in good condition when it left Ontario, and it was carried in a refrigerated truck that apparently leaked. Only after I sent several emails did I get a response, and they treated me like a nuisance, once again.

Also, I never got to see a certified copy of the weight of my move. I am just supposed to believe him and the charges (I really doubt them - I moved from the U.S. to Canada with the same items 5 years ago, and I weighed 1000 lbs less). I realize I should have asked for these details in writing, so I have no recourse. Lessons learned.

Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I very much regret using this moving company.

Transatlas was 3 weeks late delivering my belongings.

Transatlas arrived 2 days early but no one contacted me. I might have been able to arrange for storage or for the apartment complex to open the apartment early if someone had notified me. They took the shipment back to Canada!

I did not hear anything from the movers on the scheduled delivery date. I had to call long distance to find out what was going on. The shipment was continually delayed for the next 3 weeks. Each time I had to call long distance to find out where my shipment was and when it would arrive. They gave me dates 3 times, but didn’t show up. Each time I had to arrange to be at the apartment or have someone else be here, secure my cats, etc. The third time, I waited all day, then at 2:45 they called and said they would be here the following morning. They finally arrived the next morning, a full 3 weeks late.

I insisted on a discount. They gave me a 10% discount, but only if I paid the full amount IN CASH (in Canadian dollars) when the truck arrived. Otherwise, they said they would not unload my belongings. I had initially agreed to pay approximately half in cash and half via credit card.

The delay caused me significant inconvenience and physical and mental distress. Had to go to thrift stores to get kitchen utensils, cookware, and clothing.

Transatlas was extremely rude and uncaring on the phone. There was no apology or understanding that this delay caused significant problems in my life.

I hired Transcontinental Moving to move me from Montreal to Los Angeles CA back in November 2014.
They quoted me a price of $2650 I landed paying only an additional $100 above my estimate. for some packing. The movers on pickup and delivery were very professional and pleasant to work with.
I was quoted 10-14 days for delivery and they arrived in 11 days.
I have moved many times before but this had to be the most pleasant experience I have had with a moving company,
I highly recommend this company and would use them again in a heart beat
