I required a contractor to remove my tub and install tiles in the vacant area where the tub was install a fibreglass shower base in which I purchased. The tile on the floor also needed to be replace. I supplied all the tiles.
I was given an approximate 2 day completion time frame.
Contractor showed up on Canada day long weekend. Stores are closed. Showed up to remove tub. My husband and I removed the vanity and toilet, even though that was part of the work included in the cost.
After the contractor removed the tub in multiple pieces, he took the garbage to dispose of it and said he would be back the next day.
We received a message that something came up and would be back on Monday morning.
The 2 day job is now 4 days.
He showed up on Monday to remove floor tiles.
When I came by to see how the work was going, he was struggling with the install of the drain and the base. I looked at the drain and it was bent. He was forcing it it. He complained that he spent the whole day on it. I asked him if he ever installed a shower base before. He hesitated to respond. I assumed at that point no but he said yes.
Im now upset watching the install. I stayed to try to help.
He returned on Tuesday Day 5. Tile time. We went over the layout of the floor tiles. He told me I didnt order enough and said I need to get more. I gave the measurements to 3 Tile stores and all three told me the same amount I needed and now the contractor says I need more. Ok so we got in the car and started driving. During our drive we get a text from the contractor. He states that he can no longer do the job. He has personal issues and has too much stress and that I wont be happy with the final job.
Are you kidding me? Why did he take the job? Hes now left us with no bathroom on the main floor. The whole purpose of this job is so I can give my 92 year old mother a shower. Now I cant go home until this is complete. How can he call himself a contractor? This should be illegal. He also wanted $1,000 for most of the work he did. Are you kidding me? I gave him half but I should have given him $0.
I hesitated to write my nightmare but I know I had to do nobody else will live through what Im living through. I dont understand how his pictures show elegant bathrooms and kitchens that are enormous when I only have a small project that cant be done properly.

Im living at my daughters with my mom while this is going on. Thank god. The house had at least an inch of dust throughout the whole house. Nothing was protected.
It took me 3 days to remove all the dust.

We had a great experience with Eurohome Renovation. We did an entire first floor renovation including a new kitchen and bathroom, closed up a staircase and reworked the floor plan, and renovated our 2nd floor bath. Eurohome handled everything very professionally, including all city permit inspections, deliveries, etc. Their tradespeople were very skilled and available. What surprised me most was how clean they were - the parts of our home which we were leaving untouched were sealed off with zippered plastic walls, and the only dust accumulation was what one would naturally have expected during our 2.5 month absence. This was the least stressful renovation that I could have possible imagined. Darek and Peter were great to work with, were really flexible when it came to changes in our plans, and dealt with any issues calmly and with minimal cost to us. I strongly recommend this company!
