Leaking eavestrough corners and cleaning

After having Nathan round to repair 3 leaking corner joints and cleaning the eavestrough I paid $320, which they took off my credit card within 2 hours of him leaving! The next day after some rain I noticed one was still leaking. I called and had to wait 2 weeks to get an appointment to get someone round again. The day before they were supposed to arrive I got a call from an obnoxious employee who called himself Rick, saying they would not come round to fix it as it wasn't under warranty. I explained that the job wasn't repaired properly in the first place, to which he said you have to email Scott in sales. I did exactly that but never got a reply!! Their customer service is appalling. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY DO NOT DO THE JOB PROPERLY AND YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO COME BACK AFTER YOU HAVE PAID THEM.

chimney cleaning and eavestrough repair

I contacted home pro for a chimney cleaning. The tech did a free roof inspection after cleaning out my chimney. The tech had noticed that the eavestrough needed to be repaired. I recieved a quote for a reasonable amount. The tech came the next day to finish the job after telling them i needed to speak with my wife first. I am always busy so I had a small window of time to be there at the house to observe their worksmanship. They were on time, and finished before i had to leave to work. I am recommending Home Pro Exterior Services for all my friends and family. Thank you for the great work 10/10.

eaves and spout cleaning

I purchased an online coupon for Home Pro Exterior Services eaves and downspout cleaning services on behalf of a client whose property I manage. Joel and Jake arrived on time, performed the work and gave me a rundown of the shape of the roof, chimney, eaves and spouts. Their assessment was that the back spout was badly cloggged and needed to be detached and disassembled in order to be properly cleaned for an additional $75. I watched the work take place and it was quick, efficient and diligent. I appreciated the level of service, detailed invoicing for my client as well as the overall cost of the service based on two other quotes I had received. I had a positive experience dealing with Home Pro. My only recommendation would be to clarify the fine print on future promotional offers to include the additional $75 for downspouts that need to be detached. Currently, the ad states that spout cleaning is included in the advertised promotional price. That would make it a 10/10 experience ;)!

Chimney repair and Eavestrough cleaning

I had eavestrough cleaning from them which was done in a timely, professional and friendly manner. Once it got to the chimney repair however, the attitude changed dramatically. I had a separate contract drawn up for the chimney repair and once they came back to perform this work, they were aggressively suggesting extra work which obviously would cost more. I responded with a no thank you only to have the owner again explain that this was important and would cost almost 60% of the initial cost. I tried to explain why I did not want this work only to have Scott hang up on me. This is highly unprofessional. The work performed, only time will tell how that will hold up but I sincerely hope people read these reviews and avoids this company at all costs. They will overcharge and then try to charge more with work not previously agreed upon.

Roof repairs & Raccoon removal

Home Pro Exterior Services – WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !
On Saturday, September 14th 2013 ‘Home Pro Exterior Services INC.’ employee’s Fred came to our house to provide an estimate for: 1. removing the raccoons that are currently in our attic and 2. fixing the openings/holes in the roof so they cannot return anymore. He told us he will be chasing out the raccoons and he will fix the 3 existing holes they were using to enter/exit the attic. He wrote a contract for $400.00 cash only.
Together with two coworkers he went on the roof and they made a big opening, by removing shingles and a big piece of plywood. We questioned him about this and asked why he’s not using the house access to the attic and he told us that this is the way they are doing this job. They went to the attic, spent some time there, made some big noises and then they told my husband that the raccoons are out and they will be closing the roof. My husband who watched the entire time from outside didn’t see any raccoon exiting so he told them that the raccoons are still in. They got upset and told him that if we want them to close the opening (the one they just did) we will have to pay them $200.00 up front, or they will leave it as is. We found this behavior unacceptable and called the head office. We asked for the owner and the person who answered was very rude, he said that doesn't matter if he’s the owner or not, if we want the roof closed we’ll have to pay them $200.00 cash and then we’ll have to find somebody else to deal with the raccoons (by saying that, he acknowledged that the raccoons were still inside the attic!).
Based on these events we didn’t trust them anymore to do any work on our roof. We had to call and find somebody else to come and close the opening that they made; we couldn't stay with an opened roof and the weather forecast for the next day was showing 30% chances of precipitations.
We managed to get 3 other contractors on Saturday afternoon to provide us a quote for closing this opening: all of them were $500.00! And all of them told us that a professional roofer will never make such a big opening in a roof and leave – they were shocked too by the story.
So, we had to spend $500.00 + tax only to fix the damage that Fred & Co. made to our roof.
We still have the raccoons inside and the 3 openings that they are using.

Roof Inspection and Roof vent repair

Be careful when you engage them. They are sneaky if you ever need a follow up. They don't offer any warranties on their work, even if the problem emerges the next day, they don't have an invoice number or contract number on their "invoice", so you are basically stuck with a yellow piece of paper and their customer service is pathetic, rude with only response is to say no to anything you may want to say. They fixed my roof vent leak repair and I have no clue what they did....it did not get fixed... PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS...

One complete eavestrough and downspout cleaning and a 15-pt

Only cleaned about 10% of eavestrough . Would have been nothing if I haven't noticed that they pretended to clean the back of the house. After that I stood outside and watched them. Even watching them they went up one side of the house ,scooped a bit of dirt and went on the other side of the house and did the same. They told me they were finished , argued with them a bit and realize they weren't going to clean anymore. At that point I just wanted then out and just wasted $49 + tax

Basically they wanted to get more business by the 15pt inspection . Don't expect to have your eavestrough cleaned, but rather a scare tactic to spent more money with them.

Roof repair

On June 28 my roof started to leak into my living room. To be more exact, it was leaking in 5 spots, all close to each other. My husband called Home Pro Exterior Services from an ad he found on Kijiji. Within 2 hours, Fred from Home Pro Exterior Services showed up at my house. He inspected the roof and told me they have a package for 21 tiles for $500 and that's going to fix the problem. I agreed. He proceeded to replace the tiles and then he came to inform me that a bigger section needs work than he had estimated and it's going to be another $400 and he has to come back the next day. I asked him if their company would guarantee the work, if it's still leaking can I call back. He explained that yes, the company does guarantees the work that they do but to allow between 24 to 48 hours to make sure everything is dry. That being said, I signed for a $500 deposit and he told me he will come back the next day. The next day Fred went back up on the roof and then informed us that another $600 is going to be necessary to replace the damaged wood, which we agreed to pay. Total paid $1,621.77 (tax incl.).

We were pleased that they showed up so fast when we called and that they came the next day, which was a Saturday, to finish the work. We thought it's a company you can rely on. After the job was done, Fred told us that the company can't guarantee that it's not going to leak somewhere else in the house. This made sense as they only repaired a small section of the roof and we didn't ask them to fix the whole roof, only the leaking area. But that they do guarantee the section that they had worked on. My husband signed indicating that we had been informed that "more work needed to guarantee the roof". THE ROOF! Not the section they worked on, the entire roof! I had already asked if they guarantee their work and they said yes! That is the only reason we signed, especially considering that Fred and I had a talk about how they would come back in case it's still leaking.

I'm sure Fred remembers this conversation that I had with him because that was the only reason I signed for the $500 deposit; because he said the company does guarantee the work. On July 8th the ceiling started to leak worse than before Home Pro Exterior Services "fixed" the roof. We called Home Pro Exterior Services and they made an appointment to come and check it on July 24th (almost a month from the initial appointment and three weeks after their repair). Apparently that was their first available appointment. I wasn't happy but we had no choice but to wait. We did wait. And nobody ever came. And nobody called to say they are not coming. So buckets and towels every rainy day from June 29th till July 24th.

I called the company to ask if I can make another appointment or if anyone can tell me what's happening. I got the answering service. There is nobody there and no other phone number I can call. I can only wait for them to call back whenever they decide to do so. Eventually somebody called me back, an Andrew M., telling me they are NOT going to come back and to "take it up with my husband" as he signed that "customer has been informed that more work is needed to guarantee the roof" and there is nothing he's going to do about it. I was shocked. They wouldn’t even come to see what was happening. Andrew M was very rude and he hung up on me without even trying to offer any kind of solution. They already had the money, why should they care? I decided to call back and try to seek any help. I was willing to pay more and repair the whole roof. Of course, I get the same answering service that can't help; they can only take a message. I left them a message to call me back. I also asked if they have a location I can go to and talk to somebody face to face. The woman on the phone told me I am more than welcome to go to their location in Richmond Hill, Ontario at 9251 Yonge St., Unit 8966, and speak to them at their offices

Nobody called. I called again and pretended that I'm a new customer and used my middle name and the same phone number and inquired if they guarantee their work. I was informed that somebody is going to call me back. In the meantime I decided to go to their offices. I went to the address provided which is a UPS store where I learned that Home Pro Exterior Services do rent a mailbox there but that's it, there is nobody I can talk to.

The next day I get a phone call from Home Pro Exterior Services and its Andrew M. again. He called the "new client" that the answering service told him to call. This time he’s very nice and asks how can he help? I asked him if their company guaranteed their work. He told me they do guarantee their work but not against animals. And then I think he recognized my voice and asked me if we did business together before. I told him yes and gave him my address. He said he's going to put me on hold and look for my file. I waited 6 minutes on hold and then he hung up on me. I called the number he called me from and Andrew M. answers and tells me he somehow got disconnected. Strange he never called back. I explained the situation again, how I never said I want the entire roof to be guaranteed and I do understand that if it's leaking somewhere else it's not their fault. He became frustrated and tells me we talked about this before and that I already talked to his boss and he told me it's not covered. We signed that "more work is needed to guarantee the roof" and there is nothing he can do about it. I never talked to his boss and I told him this and he said he had spoken to the boss for me! And the "bottom line" is that they are not coming. I told him I can pay more or at least they could have offered me a deal to fix the whole roof in order to keep a client happy. He told me there is nothing he can do and if I want I can email his boss, Scott E. No last name, just E. I asked for Scott’s phone number. There isn't one, of course.

In my opinion, their customer service is dismal, nonexistent and embarrassing. I actually told Andrew M he's talking to me as if it's my fault that I called their company in the first place. In my opinion all this company is doing is:

- coming as fast as they can to make sure you don't call somebody else,

- taking your money, saying that they do guarantee the work and then playing with words about their guarantee,

- ensuring they are unreachable. You can never reach anybody; they can only “call you back” when they choose.

- hiding! There is no physical location and nobody you can actually talk face to face.

Strange that their website proclaims “Satisfaction Guaranteed”. In my opinion it should read “Dissatisfaction Guaranteed”. I believe that is one claim they can honour!
