exterior water source

Be careful before you call this company. They are an emergency only company. They are not located where they say they are. We thought we were calling a local company. We called and did not realize they were emergency only and they did not offer the info. They came to my home to replace a shutoff valve in the basement that was painted shut and this allowed me to have a water source in the front of our house. Clearly NOT an emergency, the job was explained to them when the call was made. They arrived the same day gave me what I thought was a high price but I regretfully approved. I did ask at the time if they could do a small improvement and just clamp the pipe and I was basically told to do this myself. By the time the bill came to me it was three hundred dollars higher. The price I thought I agreed to was 100.00 more and I am not sure where this misunderstanding occurred, I feel I was shown a different price then there was a gas charge when I thought they were two minutes away from my home. We called the company to ask for justification and were informed that they are an emergency plumbing company. There was no customer satisfaction at all this this service. We are fighting this charge now with the company and with visa but do not expect to get any satisfaction. Any advise would be appreciated.

Toilette

$250.00 and they didn't do anything!

My toilette tank was taking a very long time to fill with water after flushing. This problem had been going on for about a week. I looked up the problem and discovered it was the toilette intake valve and it would be simple to fix. I couldn't do it myself due to health reasons so I called Plumber.ca. The guy that answered the phone said he could have someone here the same day and I told him that wasn't necessary if they were busy, but fine with me.

A different guy came out and when he got here, he told me there was a service charge of $199.00 just for showing up. I had been tricked!! Since I was in for $200.00 I asked him what it would cost to replace the toilette Intake Valve. He looked it up in his binder and showed me it would be $437.50! So I told him to leave and he said I still owed him the $199.00. I felt intimidated so I took our my chequebook. He handed me a bill for $250.00 including tax. There was a further $20.00 was pre-printed on the invoice labeled, "Fuel Charge". OMG!!! And nothing was done!

It was a $20.00 part at Home Depot and a friend changed it for me in about 15 minutes.

I should have checked Homestars first. I usually do and now it seems that if I don't, it costs me a lot of money.

Burst pipe

I have just one world to say : never again!!!
We called them one morning because a pipe in the garage burst during the night. So we had to turn off the water from all the house. They ask you to sign a paper with the price on it before they begin to do anything : $450 to find the leak (it took them 10 min) then they asked me : do you want us to repair the leak? (an other $750). The guy tried for about 15 min to fix the pipe in the garage but because there were few holes in the pipe it told me that I would have to ask them to come back during the summer to replace the pipe (just few meter of pipe) and to pay again when they will come back. So he just put a cap on a pipe :$1200 just for a CAP. And they left a big mess in my garage. Ok I am a girl I do not know anything about plumbing but how dare they? I tried to contact them after but nobody respond. For sure

Hot water heater mixing valve replacement

We called this company after waking up with no hot water today. When the plumber arrived and we asked "Are you here to save the day?" He responded "For the right price." I couldn't believe he actually said that! Since we had waited 5 hrs for his arrival (which is prob about average for any company unless it is an emergency) and we already knew there was a mandatory $100 call out fee we decided to give him a chance. Things went downhill from there. He quoted over $650 for the job and then added that we should change out the copper pipes leading to the heater which was an additional cost. We discussed it and decided that we were going to decline his offer. His response was that he was "just telling us what we needed to be up to code"...fair enough, we are not plumbers but weren't willing to pay what looked like it was going to be over $700 for a valve to be replaced. He gave us a bill for $99 and left us with a bad taste in our mouths. We called another company with a "no call out fee" who sent out a plumber with amazing customer service. He quickly diagnosed the job with no mention of additional work such as changing out the copper pipes. The final price to get the job done was less than $400 which we happily paid and will be recommending to friends and family.

Plumbing repair

Don't waste your time with this company. They charged me $129 to come to my house to then try and charge me $450 to replace a broken plastic p-trap on my laundry tub. When i asked if it was going to take him 4 hours to replace the service guy looked at me as if I was crazy and said, "no, about 1 hour". So, if you're looking for a plumber who charges $450 per hour to replace a $3 p-trap these are your guys. Laughable. As a post-script I hired a reputable plumber who charged me $150 for the same job.
