For the most part, the product (house) is great in terms of inclusions. I am even OK with the many crooked walls in the house. What is not is the process that we have experienced since handing over the funds. John, the owner, assured us we would be purchasing a quality product from someone with 30 years of homebuilding experience. The result has been a series of mistakes made by the builder, some of which we caught early on such as the wrong tile being put in. Mistakes happen!! Thankfully we entered the home prior to possession because that is when we found others that, had we waited until our walk-through, would have resulted in a delay in possession; which we actually offered them so the mistakes could be fixed without inconveniencing us. We should have insisted on that! The company's mission statement should be: "get them in and fix later." Moreover, we had to hound and hound, almost beg the builder to correct deficiencies. Communication is lacking and the sales process is a proverbial joke (example: show home garage has a window. After our garage was almost finished, we learned that was not included, but we were never told that). Neighbors tell us they were told other things were included but the builder denied it. Alquinn has decided to dramatically increase the number of homes they build, and because of that, there were delays in getting our deficiencies fixed, deck, garage built, landscaping, etc. The excuse given was that they are busy. We came to learn that the owner was pulling trades to work on his own home, putting himself above his customers. After a couple of months, we are still waiting for our garage to be inspected which delays us in doing what we want to it such as dry walling, etc. After talking with the city, there were/are inspections (gas, etc) that have NOT been done, which is alarming. We have built several homes across the country, and this has been the worst experience. We took possession May 30, and the season is coming to an end for outdoor work. We still do not have landscaping in the front yard. We never get an answer from the builder, and what we do hear is that it is "John's area", and he does not share information with his employees, thus they have no answers for us. My initial hesitation about building with this company was with merit after all, and I am sorry we went with them. The majority of people on our block have experienced the same!!! I will praise the designer Kim, as well as Krista and Deanna (warranty issues). They have been wonderful to deal with!!! Site Supervisor Craig is a rock star!!!
