Mac Kay Heating And Cooling

We had the American Standard Silver Series air conditioner recommended to us by Pete and installed professionally by Andrew and Jack last November.
I don't think we could have asked for a better summer to finally get to test out our new air conditioner.
What a fantastic unit. The climate control was amazing...never too cold....just very even cooling. This was also reflected in our low hydro bills throughout the summer.

MacKay got recommended to us by a family member and since our old system broke down this was the only company we called for an estimate. We have no regrets choosing MacKay, even though an issue we wanted to have corrected from day one took 5 months until it was taken care of. It was obvious that the communication flow within the company was not as it should have been at that point in time. But things like that happen among the best of us, it's a part of life and we would not hold it against them. We are more than happy with the performance of our heating/air-conditioning system and all the team members we dealt with were very knowledgeable and conducted themselfs in a most professional manner. Very impressed with initial sales contact, Peter, and the team of Don & Zack who installed our new furnace & a/c. They fulfilled everything we were looking for in a reputable contractor. Peter gave us a detailed written quote & contract, & explained & answered all our questions which gave us confidence in hiring MacKay. Don & his assistant Zack were on time, polite, maintained cleanliness through the removal and installations, and were diligent & conscientious taking pride in their work. Don even spotted some substandard work in the hook-up of our gas water heater installed last year, and rectified these potential problems by replacing our water heater vent pipe with one dictated by the Gas code. I would highly recommend MacKay.

Installation was smooth, unintrusive and just looks professional and reliable. The installers experienced some difficulty with our (very old) chimney; they let us know immediately, told us what the possible recourses may be, and made sure the chimney liner was properly installed. Very indicative of all interactions with MacKay: upfront, thorough and keeping us informed throughout!

Excellent company, I have been dealing with MacKay's for years both at this home and my previous home. Every year I have them clean my furnace and have always been very pleased with their work. 2 weeks ago I had them install a new furnace and air conditioner. I know you should always get 3 or more quotes but I can honestly say I only got MacKay's quote. I know the quality of work they do and I knew I was going to get them to do the job so I did not waste my time or another company's time with other quotes. Don and Zack did SUPERB work, I was extremely impressed with them. They were very helpful in showing me how to use my new thermostat and answered all of my questions.
Maureen (the gal in the office) is ALWAYS friendly even when I call to ask a silly question.
Even though Adam one of the service techs had nothing to do with this job I have to mention him because I always ask for him when I get my furnace cleaned yearly he's another good employee, but then of course they all are.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MacKay's for maintenance, service and new equipment.

I came home from vacation this winter to a house that was freezing as cold air was being blown in from the furnace in my attic. At dawn on a Sunday morning I was on the phone to Mackay after having read the reviews on this site, expecting to leave a message and shiver all day until someone returned my call on Monday morning. Within 5 minutes of my call I received a call back from a technician who apologised that it would be an hour before he could get here! It would cost $99 for him to come out--the same price as a weekday call. After reviewing the situation, cleaning out problems and seeing I needed a part that had to be ordered the technician was able to do a temporary fix to get me through the next 2 days. He had to return to the shop to look for the part and I was hearing a mental ch-ching. Tuesday morning the part arrived and was replaced. The 2nd visit Andrew replaced the part with a permanent piece helped me by bringing in hard to find filters and even helping me unscrew a broken light bulb that I couldn't reach! All of this for the original quote plus the cost of the part. The office staff was on point following up carefully and both technicians were knowledgeable and extraordinarily helpful. Since then I've scheduled maintenance for both my furnace and my air conditioning with them and have been shouting their praises to my friends. Everyone there has been responsive, professional, and really really NICE! It's a winning combination and I'm pleased to recommend them. Strangely I'm actually looking forward to talking to Maureen again when it's time for my fall maintenance and looking forward to seeing Andrew. Yes, I have a life and a job, but these guys are really that great ☺

When the 2 gentlemen came to install the air conditioner they were very courteous---explained what they were going to do---Laid the carpet leading from door to cellar door---every time they spoke to me they called me by name-----had one minor problem bringing in the copper piping to furnace---needed to cut a foam panel in ceiling and asked my permission to cut----I gave them the OK---once done and they cleaned up and they explained the bill before I paid them----they also stated that if there were any future problems to call he company----overall----I was completely satisfied with their work and courtesy
