Up and Down Tree Service was extremely professional, on time, safe and quick in removing our 40+ fully grown locust tree close to our house. Jim left our back yard in an immaculate state, there was no clean up left for us after he was done. This was a huge tree and the whole process took him only a couple of hours. Price was very competitive. We highly recommend Up and Down Tree Service and Jim!

Highly recommend Up and Down to anyone who is in need of tree work. They provide a great service, in which is completed to the homeowners request "which i really like" and they do the job safe and right! They do a great clean up after and i would %100 use them again.

I was very happy with this company. Jim got back to me within 1hr of my contacting up and down tree service about a large tree I was beginning to have problems with on my front lawn. He came to look at my tree the same day and was able to remove it for me less than 24hrs later and for a great price. He took the time to answer all our questions and explain all our options to us. Very friendly as well. I would highly recommend this business to anybody!!!!!

In October of 2013 we contacted five different arborist companies serving Durham Region regarding tree pruning and tree removal. Up & Down Tree Service was the first to reply, and provided a quote for services within a few hours of my initial inquiry. Upon choosing this company for our needs, we were offered multiple options for scheduling our tree services, with very little waiting time. On the first of 2 days of work, the 2-man team arrived on time and were very pleasant. There was a big job to do, and the gents got right to it. Extensive pruning work was completed on three very large maple trees, and the complete removal of an apple tree was also done. There was one small incident during the take-down of the apple tree, some latticework on our fence was damaged...but it was flawlessly repaired less than 24 hours later. Also, the apple tree was cut into fireplace logs for us, and neatly stacked for curing/drying in our backyard, at no extra cost to us. We will definitely contract with Up & Down Tree Service for our future needs, and confidently recommend their work and customer service !!

I had Up and Down Tree Service recommended to me by a close friend and was thrill when he arrived an hour after i called to get an estimate. We walked around my property and talked about many trees I had issues or concerns with. i have a tree that was leaning towards the house and i was worried that if in a serious storm the tree would fall on my home. He told me the tree should be pruned to let more sun onto the roof of my home, and that the tree was strong and it didnt need to be removed. (later, after speaking with my significant other, i realized that Jim could have taken advantage of me and told me that the tree needed to come down immediately and i would have forked over the money.) But that didnt happen and i am very grateful for his honesty.
Because of rain we were not able to start work for three days but that was very understandable since its october and trees dont dry quickly after a rain, especially for three days of rain. Today at 12pm (tuesday october 8th 2013) i called Jim to see if he was able to make it to my house or if he had to catch up on any other jobs he had been working on b4 mine. Turns out the tree was down and he was just cleaning up. i drove home to check out the work to see if everything had been done well and to my liking. Not only was the 60ft tree down but the dead tree in my front yard was down the he had removed two very young trees that were future trouble for my foundation.
Jim and his team were very good and clean and a pleasure to work with. (my neighbor wanted the fire wood and Jim left it in a very nice pretty pile close to my neighbors driveway)
But what i think topped the cake for me was that my neighbor walked over and asked Jim if he would remove a limb of one of my trees that was hanging over her driveway and leaving a mess on her truck. Not only did he ask me before he did any work on that tree, but he removed it without charging my neighbor or myself a dime.
TO TOP IT ALL!!! i was originally estimated over double Up and Down Tree Service's quote. These boys deserved everything they got and more... that's why i got the some canolli's and gift certificates. If i had more i would have tipped them too. PS... when he left i asked if he build fences.

We had lots of trees removed and pruned on our 100 acre lot. Jim was prompt, professional and chipped and cleaned up the site in a timely manner. I highly recommend Up and Down tree service.

jim of up and down did a great job with exacting care in removal of a tree positioned very close to our shed. He removed another small tree and chipped everything and cleaned up very neatly in an efficient manner.Very highly recommend up and down tree service,will use again.thanks jim.
