Bathroom

Before choosing to go with Houses in the rough, the thing that really stood out to me was the fact they were not only able to show me a previous job that they had done, but that I was able to meet a fellow home owner who spoke very highly of Adam and Ernie.
They did the bathroom in my condo which I could not be more pleased. It is very easy to see in the workmanship that they really enjoy and take a lot of pride in what they do, from the tile edging to the precision caulking.

Water proof April 2017

My husband and I employed Houses in the Rough to do our waterproof. We have absolutely no complaints. They were professional, courteous and very informative every step of the way. The job was completed in the time frame they quoted and the concrete work they did was beautiful! My husband and I will definitely hire Adam and Ernie for any future needs.

Basement lowering, underpinning, waterproofing and complete reno

My basement was a concrete dungeon that I could not stand up in. When Adam Ernie and Shawn finished it was a new family space for us all to share. They were incredible and did this huge job while we had a 3.5 month baby. They were so friendly and respectful that my family grew to consider them part of the family. Excellent quality work. Highly recommend houses in the rough.

Thanks guys for being so awesome.

Basement Reno

I had Houses in the Rough do my full basement renovation. The company exceeded my expectations with regards to the workmanship. I loved how they explained things to me in depth in a way that I could understand work being completed every step of the way. They were very patient while I made or changed my mind about designs etc. I now have a beautiful in-law suite. Couldn't be happier.

bathroom renovation

I called 5 separate companies for quotes, ended up going with Houses In The Rough even though they were the second most expensive, reason being is that when I met with Adam despite him looking young, he made me feel comfortable and confident in knowing his trade, also I liked the fact that he assured me that he would be one of the actual people doing the work. (have had problems with sub contractors in the past) My basement washroom took approx. 10 days which was 4 days ahead of estimated finish time. Adam and the crew were professional and very respectful of my space, easy to work with and take pride in what they do. Happy enough with the company that I just referred them to a co-worker.

home waterproofing

I "found" this company as they were waterproofing the house next door. I stopped to ask the workers what they were doing, and I liked their attitude. I met their 'boss' , Adam, whom I met that day. They did a few small jobs for me (fixed cement driveway, fixed and re-parged corner of my house, etc) very thoroughly and reasonably. In waterproofing my house they took on 'extra' work that needed to be done such as removing carpet from basement to carpet cleaners, buying new under-carpet material, checking for black mold, moving the furniture as needed, etc. He added extra insulation for the back of the house knowing that my plumbing was too close to the back wall and prone to freezing in the winter (and came to blowtorch my pipes when they did freeze). Adam Oliver was very good at keeping me up-to date on their progress, including e-mailing me while I was away- (with photos). Adam (and his partner Ernie) are proud of the work their company does, and aim for a high standard. The actual waterproofing is complete but there are still things to be completed, such as re-doing parts of the back yard, which they will do later on (by mutual agreement). Before and since they have also repaired leaks in the stack, and did considerable repairs on the back wall of the house - installing new wood beams, etc, etc, I am not sure but think that might have been included in the waterproofing price. I felt all right leaving them to do the work while I was away, and knowing they would do it well. I forgot to mention that they began the work in the fall or winter, and used any warm days they could to get it done at the earliest possible time. And after the ice storms they worked to keep the runoff from going into my basement.
