BestWay Laminates

My countertop and new sink were installed in one day, even though the job was a bit more labor intensive than Sam had anticipated.
Everything was left clean, inside and out. I could not be happier with the work and the cost. My kitchen looks brand new.

I'm not the one to complain but I wasn't impressed with how the project went. I do have one positive thing to say is that the new counter top does look good.

When it came to pay I felt that Sam wanted to just get the money and run instead of going over any defect that could happen when you are retrofitting a new countertop over old cupboards. The first issue with the project is that I wanted a 5" backsplash to cover up where the old tile backsplash was and bring it up to the window trim. The new counter top was 5/8" thinner than the old countertop. Sam follow the directions of the backsplash to the letter, leaving a 5/8" gap of unpainted not prepped gap where old tile used to be under the window trim. Sam's response this was to paint. How do you prep and paint such a small gap? If material costs were a concern, I would have been more than happy to pay extra for a 5 5/8" backsplash than deal with that gap.

The second issue is that a lip was put on to give the countertop a look that it is a thicker top. Because that countertop is a little lower, the drawers wouldn't fit in. This wasn't tested during the project. I almost didn't catch Sam before he pulled away. Sam's solution to this was to pull out his belt sander to sand the 1/8" off so the drawers will past under the lip. He then told me how to cover up the bare wood. So now I have two projects to do

The other issues I have was during the removal of the old counter top was the cupboard frame split is one section. I guess the split was glued back together, but I was left to discover this on my own. The cupboards were not swept out and the old countertop and sink were left in my backyard. When you do any work, clean up is very important to the owner unless is was agreed upon before the work started. There was no discussion that I was to clean the work area and remove the garbage. This should have been done by Sam. One last minor thing I wasn't told if I have a warranty or given a summary of the work that was done.

With all the issues I had I won't rehire or recommend this company

Very professional to deal with prior to and during the replacement. More than this the work was excellent. Much better pricing than big box stores and much faster job completion. I was really very impressed. I would use this company again with out hesitation.

Since the beginning Sam was very pleasant to deal with. We had huge issues with having our laminate countertops done by Home Deport (don't waste your time with them - it took us almost three months to have the order placed only to find out that they don't honor their quote prices). Sam offered us a very competitive price and had the availability to get the job done very promptly. We are very pleased with the quality of his work and we will definitely recommend him for any laminate work. Thank you Sam!

Sam and Laurier did a great job. The counters look great and were built and installed on site. They were on time and did not make a mess. I would definitely use them again!

Sam did a fantastic job installing Formica ColorCore2 kitchen countertop. It looks like a solid surface for much, much less than stone would cost and so far it seems like it will be bulletproof! If you don't know about this product, google it or ask him. He was able to install my counter within a week of my quote. He also builds the counter from scratch on site, which I think results in a superior install. Sam was 100% on time and professional. Highly recommended.

Sam did a great job on our new Formica Laminate countertops! The price was right and he was responsive to all questions and inquiries. As we chose a brand new 2015 laminate we had to wait a few weeks for the supplies, but once they were in he was at our house within a couple days. I would highly recommend Bestway Laminates!

Sam was professional, courteous and very meticulous with the work he did. He came prepared, and cleaned up aftewards.
