I can not express how excited I was to order my shed and finally get it installed. Sadly, my excitement came to a crashing halt before the shed was even completed.
Basically, there was a misunderstanding on what exactly I had ordered based on some confusing back and forth emails with Caitlin. I paid more for something I didn't even want!
The 2 men installing the shed (who were wonderful by the way) suggested I call Caitlin before they proceeded further. As soon as she answered the phone, her demeanor changed once she realized who was calling (I guess people only call when there's a problem on installation day). I explained to her what was going on.
Instead of showing any sort of empathy towards the situation. I was told that "this has never happened to us before", "you signed the contract", etc.
The real kicker was the two options she (after speaking with Marty, I presume) offered me. Option 1: Let the guys finish up the job as is or Option 2: Spend an additional $600+ dollars to have them correct the issue (and, of course, I was told that this would take weeks to schedule in).
The shed is very nice. It seems to be well built. The 2 guys building the shed were very friendly and nice to chat with. These 2 men installing the shed showed more professionalism and empathy than Caitlin and others at the main office even came close to showing! The 2 installers seemed to really feel bad about the situation.
Caitlin, however, tried to make me feel stupid. I wasn't trying to cause problems. I wasn't even looking for some big discount. It would have been nice, sure, to offer to not charge me for the upgrade I did not really want. But honestly, to just hear her say "we are so sorry, but unfortunately......" or "I am so sorry to hear you are disappointed.....", etc. I got nothing close to this from them.
Sadly, I cannot recommend Shed Solutions. The product is nice, but there are a lot of other companies out there offering a similar product. Customer Service is horrible with this company. Everything is fine, until you encounter any sort of problem.
I can say that this experience was sort of like dining out at a nice restaurant and having a really bad server. Sadly, I cannot recommend Shed Solutions simply due to their lack of customer service. Check out comments on their facebook page (I am not the only one who's had issues with this company's customer service).
A company is nothing without good customer service.
