AC UNIT INSTALL

I hired Ron to install my AC unit. Price was right but you get what you pay for. Workman ship was absolutely horrible. Unit was poorly mounted to the side of the house, excess holes were drilled thru exterior wall then needed. Copper lines were kinked and ran the easiest way possible to hook up, which was an eye sore. On top of that the Cooling line was not insulated outside. VERY poor tradesman, Do you self a favor and learn from my mistake.

Beware of this "contractor"

I hired Ronnie to do a furnace replacement and put in a new A/C unit in the winter of 2014/15. The price was good but the work was inferior. Ronnie came back multiple time to correct deficiencies and fix issues that were caused by the faulty work/installation.
I hired another contractor to determine why the A/c unit was leaking (which Ronnie had been back 3 times to repair and never found the issue). Turns out the issue was a factory leak in the evaporator coil unit. This cost me $540 for the tech to find and solder/braze the leak. Unit now works as it should have from the start.

AC Replacement

I called Ron as recommended by my friend who had past problem with her AC and she was satisfied with his work. Ron install an AC he recommended, with higher capacity from the old one, as I complained that the old one is not rated to the size of the house. He actually charged me lesser than the cost of the original one and install everything while I was in vacation out of the country. What a reliable, defendable and honest person Ron is! Thanks for him, I came back home with a cool house and seem like the area where he worked was never been disturbed as everything is in their proper places. I would highly recommend Ron to my family and friends in a heart beat. Alex Fuentes

Home furnace

I was out of the country when I called Ron to have a look at my furnace that had to be replaced. He informed me of my options and the work was completed by the second day which was a weekend. I want to show my appreciation for prompt, fair priced, courteous and professional service by writing this review. I wish more service techs were as thorough and conscientious as Ron.

Boiler and Radiators install

Ron came to install radiators and a hydronic heating system in my residence. At the start everything seemed good but once the installation began we ran into problems. Here is a list of what was done wrong - 4 of the 11 rads were put in locations which we had not originally agreed on and they were bigger than we discussed as well. Ron said he needed to buy the bigger and more expensive ones but did not ask me first and then increased the price. - boiler was dropped and damaged and I was not told about it until I did a closer inspection. Ron did replace the casing after I asked to be replaced. - when running the pex lines they cut through an electrical wire and did not tell me about it. Could have caused a fire. - when running the lines they cut into the support studs to make just enough room to push the lines up against them instead of drilling pilot holes and running them through the studs. Halfway through the installation they increased the price by $2500. Saying the rads cost more and their materials in general were costing more. - Instead of using elbow / 90 degree joints to run the lines out of the wall or better yet have the lines come up through the floor they just had the pex lines come out of the wall on awkward angles which looks terrible. - when feeding the lines through the walls they pushed the lines through the insulation which caused big gaps. What should of happened was remove a strip of drywall and insulation and then it would have made it easier for the repairs and for them as well. leaving big gaps of insulation is counter productive when you are trying to heat your house. - They asked for payments before they were due. They wanted final payment before the job was done and assumed I was going to pay the increased amount. - they pushed pex lines up against outer walls where they should have drilled pilot holes through the stud instead. Cant insulate against the wall and could cause freezing of the lines. - They ran pex lines across corners in the bathroom which were not pushed into the walls and left no slack for me to push them in. How am I suppose to put the baseboards back on and drywall? Last but not least the venting system and boiler were not the proper ones for my house. The vent does not pass code. It is too close to the ground and the house windows. I now have to buy a different boiler that is high efficient. I asked them to take the boiler and venting back in exchange for the price of it. He told me he had no room to store it (boiler measures 10"x36") and that the original agreement did not state that he would replace the boiler. This makes no sense. I should not have to replace the boiler if they had put the proper one in. They are suppose to be the experts in this field. They wanted me to pay $12460 + $2500 (added on) equaling $14960. I paid $11000 before I had discovered alot of these problems. I then fired them. I asked for money back to pay for the repairs to fix the wiring they cut through, the work to properly refeed some of the pex lines, the cost of insulation repair and most of all the boiler and venting to be returned and refunded etc... They said no and said they were doing me a favour by not charging me for the rest of the payment. I have tried to settle with them for just the money for the boiler and venting but to no avail. I am now pursuing legal action for everything they did wrong. I cannot afford to be taken for thousands of dollars. I paid $11000 and in the end I got 11 radiators and some plastic pex lines. I would not recommend them. I have to have someone else finish the job and it has cost more than originally priced and more frustration then it should have.

Furnace Repair

Ron helped fix our furnace. He persevered for hours to diagnose the problem as all parts seemed to work fine but furnace wasn't generating heat. He not only nailed the problem & fixed it right away, but also patiently waited for an hour to ensure it didn't have any other issues. He went an extra mile and brought additional help when required. Thanks to Ron the furnace is working like a gem. I highly recommend Ron & his services.

Relocation of a gas shut-off valve

Called this company and within a day Ron was in my house to give me a quote! The price was right so the job was done a couple of days later. I needed a shut-off valve to my fireplace moved to a different location. It didn't seem to be an easy job because of many obstacles in the way but Ron did it no problem. If you want an honest, clean and professional job done for a good price then Ron is your guy!!!

Installation of Radiant Tube Heating

I have nothing but good things to say about AOM / Ronnie. He started on time every morning and saw the job to completion without any delays. We had two radiant tube heaters installed that required special consideration because of the high walls in our shop and the several windows. He had someone come in to perform an accurate heatloss calculation to make sure we were getting the right units. Will use again and recommend to others
