Snow Removal. (Halton Snow Removal owned & operated by the Driveway Doctor)
Hired Halton Snow Removal (owned and operated by the Driveway Doctor) for snow removal service in December, 2016. Paid extra for snow removal by snow blower to protect my newly installed driveway. Despite the contract, the company used a plow causing over $8,000 damage. I cancelled the service immediately. The owner was un-professional, suggesting that I have no right to cancel because of the 60 day contract notice. He had no consideration for the damage, and tried to intimidate me with his wife's connection to a law firm. He breached the contract, caused damage and left us with the cleanup. "0" stars.

- Company Response
First and foremost we have repeatedly informed this client that we did NOT use our plow on her driveway or cause damage. We have spoken to the driver and asked him if he used the snow blower or the plow on her driveway without informing him of the complaint so that his answer would not be affected by knowledge and his answer was he never once dropped a plow blade on her driveway. He did note that the last time he attended the property the snow was already cleared which he thought they may have shoveled themselves however after hearing this complaint we believe its possible another plow company cleared her driveway by mistake. We did have another client not far from her tell us that one of our competitors (I wont name here) was clearing her driveway by mistake as well so its entirely possible.
In an effort to provide good customer service the owner of The Driveway Doctor Inc offered to go look at her driveway and see if it can be fixed for her but that cannot happen until the spring. No Company can do concrete repair work in the winter. Unfortunately rather than taking us up on our offer to assist her she instead began slandering our company all over the internet. We use the world slander because that is what a negative review about a company based on false pretense is. If it was our company that caused the damage we would have no problem owning up to the issue but we did NOT cause the damage. We carry $5 million in general liability insurance for this specific reason but since we did NOT cause the damage we cannot file an insurance claim.
Unfortunately now we have someone slandering us under false pretense for something that we did not do.
As for her complaint about the 60 days termination clause. She is right in regards to us having a 60 day notice to terminate requirement HOWEVER we never did force her to follow that clause. Even though we know for a fact that we did not cause the damage this person has trust issues with our company and so we understood this and canceled the contract for her with no financial penalty to her. She additionally sent the owner an email telling him that she does not believe he is being un-professional but now that he has said he cannot pay for damages that his company didn’t cause she is saying he is unprofessional.
The biggest problem with review sites like these is people can post inaccurate or even false reviews, both negative and positive. We are confident that majority of the people reading this know there is always two sides to every story.
This review is seriously flawed.
