I have read hundreds of reviews as well as the BBB file on this company. I can safely say that there is a pattern.
The website and phone agent both confirmed the 80.00 service fee is removed if you go ahead with the repair. What it doesn't tell you, is it's removed and replaced by a 220.00 charge to diagnose the problem.
It's very interesting that I was told that I should probably just buy two new appliances... "control board was gone on my Miele Dishwasher" which is likely not the problem, according to Miele, and the parts to repair my dryer would be 400.00 plus another 220.00 installation fee. (These same parts are available on line for about 50.00 total)
The tech did not advise me of any additional fees until he had both machines apart, about two hours into the process. He spent four hours trying to diagnose the problem and looking at "how to" videos on his phone. He also made a point of telling me how he will charge people $220.00 if they are called out for something "stupid".
When you pay by credit card, you are charged 5% not the 2.75 as indicated on the website, which under any conditions is against merchant rules.
When I called them after 3 failed attempts to get them to call me, I was told the tech spent the time trying to fix my machine without parts so he was saving me money. No, they would not refund me anything. I have escalated this to the manager, who, from everything I have read will probably not be much assistance. Too bad, so sad.
n addition, the tech advised me that the part was CAD750. I subsequently contacted Miele, and the part in question is $400.00 from Miele directly.
The bait and switch tactics, along with their lack of clear communication and inflated prices is a good reason to steer clear. If that doesn't convince you, check out the BBB unanswered concerns where they have a BBB score of "F".
