Hi Lucy and thank you for writing. The eavestrough system of a home is very important because it keeps water away from your foundation and potential leaks into your basement. The new eavestrough are typically 5" and are held in place by screwclips rather than nails so it is a much stronger system. The downpipes are typically 3" x 3" which are bigger than most existing downpipes as well.
