Good value for service. However, the entire experience was not as professional as some other movers I have used in the past. Two out of three of the crew were 45 minutes late (which I didn't pay for). The same two got lost for 20 minutes on the way to the new location which was only a 5 minute drive away. They asked for payment before the job was done because they claimed I was dishonest because I had more stuff than I said. Which is bizarre because the administration lacks a thorough quoting experience. Most movers call and go through a detailed quote. Also, why create a sense of skepticism if they are going to finish the work and drive off with some of my possessions. Also they are getting paid by the hour and it's not like they are not going to get paid. But the bottom line is they moved everything without damaging it and their rates are better than most so I will consider using them again and ensure I am extra clear on expectations and timing.
After my initial review Paul from Carefree responded. Unfortunately, his response is so inaccurate I feel compelled to respond. Regarding the timing my move, it had to be done by noon. I asked them to be there at 7am saying that I thought it would take between 5-6 hours. Also I asked for three guys to be there from the first minute. There was no communication from them about a change of plan. And it still doesn't resolve the shady tactic of asking for payment before the job was done. bottom line be sure to have clear communications on expectations.

Good afternoon, Peter.
Thank you for the feedback. I would like to resolve this situation for you in a more satisfactory manner.
Let me first describe the situation to demonstrate the cause of what happened. Based on your requirements, our movers had to start loading at 7AM, because you had your elevator booked from 8AM to 10AM for unload.
Based on the short list of your stuff that you'd provided us with, we estimated how much time would we need to complete the work, therefore we decided to change our work tactics. Instead of one 28 ft truck, we sent you a two 16 ft trucks for the price of one (the 28ft) and three movers. To expedite the work process I chose the following scenario: one mover will load boxes and small stuff and then goes to your new property to unload the truck. With other words one mover is working independently, completing the task. The other two movers and the second truck were engaged in loading of all remaining stuff and furniture. According to my estimate we would need: 1 hour for the two trucks loading and 1.5 hour for the unload in your building apartment; and in this case the job should be done by 10 AM. However, there were much more stuff to load than stated in the list you provided us before. Despite the fact that both of the trucks were fully packed, there were still lot of stuff left on your backyard and other rooms to be picked up, loaded and then unloaded. That's why the whole process lasted much longer. The reason I decided to do my explanation here in writing is to prevent similar situations in the future. We're always asking our clients to give us a detailed list of belongings that must be moved, to know how to plan and organize your relocate efficiently.
And finally, regarding second moving crew coming 45 minutes late. This situation was discussed with my employees and some measures were taken. Please, accept my apologies for this situation. I would like to thank you very much for your business and I really hope, that we could improve your opinion about us, should you decide to choose our moving company for your moving needs.
Sincerely,
Paul Siebert.
