If you are looking for a company that destroys your furniture and doesnt have a good insurance policy, then look no further you have found the one ! Mid-West moving will say things I promise, Im not a li*r like other companies! That should have been my cue to run in the other direction. Mid-West moving out in zero care into carefully moving my furniture after I meticulously packed everything. I would never go with this company ever again, and would not advise you to either. Spend the extra money, read the liability insurance policies, and get everything in writing

Do NOT use this company. When our furniture was delivered there was thousands of dollars worth of damage. Wooden furniture was broken and scratched, wrought iron furniture had broken legs, fragile boxes were crushed, and one chair is still missing.
They take no responsibility for a duty to care for your belongings, and refused to follow up with us about damaged goods

Very unorganized, unprofessional, many damaged items and not worth the hassle to claim. Manager won't communicate by phone. Price tripled to move, didn't even send the proper sized truck. IT WAS A COMPLETE DISGRACE for a move from Alberta to British Columbia. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Save your Time, Money & Headaches! All the negative reviews are true! It starts with the poor customer service. Lowina the relocation specialists (not sure how she got that title) is very assuring with a phony attitude that you made a good decision, but as soon as they have your deposit everything changes. They don't return your calls or e mails. I used my sisters phone because once your phone number comes up they won't answer. Once Lowina knew it was me she was very rude, told me to call dispatch who also doesn't return phone calls or e mails, she hung up on me twice! The weight of my furniture supposedly came in at 2980 lbs, if its under 3000 lbs Midwest chargers you an extra $1300.00 I asked in an e mail twice for a copy of the weight scale ticket to verify. Of course there was no reply! They ask for the remaining balance up front or you don't get your furniture. The day they moved me, I asked where was my couch, the movers said they couldn't get it into the elevator and left it in the entrance. They said they had to leave to go do another delivery. I had to ask a person in the building if he could help me put the couch in the elevator and move it out on the floor I was moving on. I had to go to tell the movers to go finish the job and move the couch into the Apt. Unbelievable!! Avoid the Bad experience and go with a reliable Mover!

Please please save yourself the stress and go with another company. I used mid-west moving back in 2020 and had little issue (just the delivery was delayed a few days and hard to get a response to when it was coming) but when I used them Aug/Sept 2022 it was a NIGHTMARE. The pickup on Aug 12th went okay. I had most of the boxes in the garage for easy loading. The problems started after. We originally asked for delivery on September 1st giving double the time to make it across the country then they need. leading up to the day we hear nothing and still have not received our final invoice. After calling and emailing nothing so I sent a estimate request under my husbands name and sure enough within an hour we get a call. This lady gave me the phone number to the dispatch lady who would not answer calls just text messages and that was a crapshoot. Long story short we got our delivery on September 18th. 17 days late without an apology or discount and when asked for a discount was told if we do not pay in full they will not delivery our stuff.
When they unloaded the truck we took the time to check in all the boxes and furniture. After going over the paperwork we have 3 boxes that were stollen from us! One being a brand new Vitamix we just purchased before leaving and two boxes of kitchen stuff (all-clade pots and pans and basic kitchen tools) As if this was not enough EVERY piece of furniture was damaged. Our bed frame that I asked them to wrap 3 times and was told yeah yeah was not wrapped and had major dents in the wood.
Needless to day after many tears I reached out to the company only to be told pay the deductible and file a claim and if approved you will get $0.60/lb
Bottom line, yes they are cheap but what is the cost of replacing your belongings because that is what you will end up needing to do with this company.

This was just awful, please save youyrself a lot of grief and NEVER use MID WEST MOVING. All the other reviews are correct and reflect our experience. We are out of pocket,. missing goods, have breakages beyond description, our stuff is lost, damaged, dirty and gone.
In spite of many calls and emails, you get nothing but rudeness if indeed you get an answer at all.
Insurance claim in the works, but of course no reply not even an acknowledgement .
We are still awaiting any sort of reply, our goods are gone, my faith in movers has been demolished and we have a fortune to spend on replacement.
DO NOT make our mistake, avoid the Copmapny like the plague.

I did not pay only gave them a deposit of $400 (non refundable) . This is the worst move ever I will never hire these guys ever again nor would I ever recommend them to anyone not even my enemy. They did not call first like we agreed upon the day before and then an hour before so we could be ready. Then 3-5 days for delivery from Nanaimo to Calgary but again noits been more like 3weeks and counting. And not the price I was quoted but something way more than expected. I got totally ignored whenever I called never got an answer or a reply call back not until they wanted to get paid which they wanted before they dropped off my stuff I didnt agree and said I would pay when the truck was in my driveway with my stuff and even then I want some compensation for all the bill they put me through. Never again not with this company anyway nor would I recommend them.. stay away is my advice

I did a big mistake that I had a deal with this company. The track driver told me that I have to pay only 300. Because my staff was only a couple of boxes. Before that I paid them 500 for deposit. And then they send me invoicee 900.after they took my staff.. I don't have a choice and I paid them. They are so sweet until they get youyour money. Even they are not respect their customers, especially Anna and the receptionest Lowina. Please please please do t use this company.

I have a bad experience with this company and I wish had read the reviews of others before going ahead ....
At first you will receive your stuff with damages ,dirty, and disorganized.
The worst thing is the company driver coming back to your house after the dispatch knocking the door at 4 a.m in the morning saying that you have another delivery!
And when you call the company next day no one gives you the explanation.
I would rather hiring a u haul van than go with this company even if it was for free of charge.

Paid $3050.
Weight was 1660 lbs.

Cons:
Approximately 1k lbs. Tried to fit me in for June 22 or June 24th of 2021, but will call 2 days before the date. June 20th and 21 past. Called on June 22 around 3pm/15h to verify, because Lowina did not call me yet to confirm on the moving date for June 24th. She said they call the day before to give the time frame then the truck driver and movers will arrive to pick up the delivery. A different person emailed me later indicating that they cannot pick up the delivery on June 24th due to the truck being stuck in Manitoba. The next date available was on June 29th. Resulting in cancelling my plane ticket, changing plans and making more back up plans in case they change the date again or cancel on me at the last minute.
Once everything was picked up, the company did not contact me at all about the delivery date, payment, update information until the driver and movers showed up unannounced on July 12th. I have emailed a few times to ask for the delivery date, because the apartment building requires a week in advance notice to reserve the elevator for movers.
ANNA IS UNPROFESSIONAL! In the email, I was instructed that it would be easier to call or text Anna, she was unresponsive, unprofessional, and unaccommodating. Had to write to the company email to get a response of when the delivery date was, because the first thing they will tell you is pay first. After paying they said Anna will contact me for the delivery time. Through many texts and emails I have sent to Anna and the company, I had explicitly indicated that I would need at least 7 days to reserve the elevator for my building. She would give me 2 to 3 days notice for the delivery. As a dispatcher, she said she cannot control or tell that early in advance where and when the drivers are able to deliver again at my location. I had to ask for her guesstimation and reserve 2 days worth of time slots with my building manager.
Day of delivery, Lowina and Anna were unresponsive. Through email and 2 calls the day before delivery, they said the movers will be there between 9am to 12pm. Calling Anna and Lowina went to voicemail. They did not call to update me when it was past 12pm. The movers arrived over an hour late. They did not go through the list of items with the customer to make sure everything was there. The people who delivered are not even from Mid-West Moving and Storage (a company based in Alberta), they are from a local storage company.
Damages: bins, coffee stains, rearranged items and missing items. Most of the plastic bins were crushed and lids damaged from other heavy boxes/containers stored above them. A blue bin with playstation games had coffee spilled and stained from the middle to the bottom. Many of the game covers are ruined. Some of the unstained games were on top, it seemed like they were trying to cover the coffee stains up, as well as looking through my bin of games. One of the games in the blue bin appeared in another bin. One of the plastic bins had legs for a bedside table, one out of the four legs is missing, rendering it useless. A box labeled “GLASS” was damaged, there were 2 broken mugs, a chipped glass cup and a jar with a broken lid.
Emailed about missing and damages on August 1st to Mid-West Moving and Storage Company. It is now August 12th 2021, they are still unresponsive. Every email, call and text follow-up was initiated and carried out by the customer and not the company. Very difficult to get a response. Mid-West Moving and Storage are UNPROFESSIONAL!
Pre-booking checked on Better Business Bureau and they were Accredited, which apparently means nothing. Reviews online for the company were horrid. As I write this review, their page is updating and all the reviews disappeared.

Sidenote cons:
Deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE, unless they cancel on you or they cannot meet the date they gave you (and inform you last minute).

Pay a fee for every flight of stairs in an apartment building.

Pay before they give you a delivery date, it felt as though they were holding my stuff hostage for the whole month. Most stressful move. Most stressful month.

Student discounts (maybe other discounts and promos) are only applicable for customers with 3000lbs and over.

Over priced.

I have all the emails and text messages saved as proof/evidence available if and when it is required.
