Not happy at all by their unprofessional conduct and workmanship

Hi, i wanted to share my experience. I wanted to wait before writing this review as I wanted it to be reasoned and not biased. Essentially, I had a leaking issue with respect to my roof and it was occuring near my skylight. I asked around and I found out it's either a skylight or a roofing issue. The latter is a little more harder to determine because you need to remove the roof to see the problem. I phoned the roof whisperer and talked to arthur who after looking at my photos said this was a skylight issue. I trusted him and we proceeded with the repair. Literally one week later the area started leaking again. I asked about the warranty and he said Albert would go up and look at the repair again. This time Albert told me that the original roofers did not put on a capp (second membrane) and that we needed to replace the roof entirely. What is egregious is that when Albert went up to look at the skylight for the first time, the fact that he did not identify that there was no capp on my roof is quite appalling. So when I phoned back after the second leak, it was only then that Albert raised the fact that the previous contractor did not apply a second membrane. I am quite shocked that Albert continued to repair my skylight when he knew that there was a serious issue with my roof. It's pretty sharp practice and not someone I want to continue to work with. Also, when I got their invoice for the roof repair - they didn't even acknowledge the fact that they made an unnecessary repair or address my issue that they should have identified the problem to begin with. For what it's worth, I got other roofing companies to look at my roof afterwards. Both of them said Albert's repair job was horrible and both of them said that it was not appropriate for them to fix it without letting me know that the roof was the issue and not the skylight. Also consider their reviews - nothing positive in the last year at the time of writing. I just want to protect others from experiencing this from them. They should not be in business.

Hi Allen,
Firstly you are lying outright about the course of the action. Absolutely lying!
You called us and explained to me that the roof is not in good shape but you only want to perform a repair to our best abilities to stop the leak. You did not have the budget to replace it so you asked us if anything could be done to repair it. Albert came out and found all the membrane seams around the skylight were opened and poorly adhered to by the previous roofing company. The membrane was in great shape but the seams were not sealed properly. We do take pictures and explain in detail what is happening and what needs to be done to fix the issues. So, Albert sealed all the seams that were opened with Alsan flashing (the proper expensive material used for flat roof repair) around the skylight. The leak happened the second time which we do not believe did, Albert then came for the second time free of charge and extended the repair onto the rest of the membrane. After this, you asked us to provide a price for the roof replacement. Once I sent the price you requested your money back for the repair. We refused to do so because we did stop your leak. We are not a roof repair charity, we have expenses and a service was provided to you that you paid for. It is a common practice where homeowners fix their roof temporarily first to protect their home and after good research and time taken to schedule the work for the replacement. Because you did not get a free roof repair you decide to make this bogus claim that we are a horrible roofing company. You have the right to express your concerns for any company online but at least have the decency to tell the truth and not lie!
We are still in business and going strong. We have been for 16 years now and will be for many decades to come. You and I will be dead and The Roof Whisperer still will be one of the best roofing companies in Toronto and GTA. We have thousands of reviews on different platforms, you just have not done your homework.

Roof Replacement

I recently had my roof replaced by a highly professional group of individuals. They were incredibly neat and tidy, always keeping the work site clean. Not only did they arrive on time, but every single member of the team displayed an impressive level of knowledge and expertise in their work. I highly recommend this company for anyone in need of roof replacement services. They truly exceeded my expectations, just like my favorite TV show, The Price is Right!

Roof Leak

When I called the Roof Whisperer about a leak from our roof, I was told that we would have to pay $49. for an estimate which would be applied to the invoice for any repairs done. We agreed.
Arthur arrived for the appointment, looked at the roof, and stated his opinion about the source of the problem. We gave him a fifty dollar bill which he added to a roll of bills from his pocket.
More than a month later after I emailed Arthur and spoke to him on the phone:
1) there has been no estimate on the work required and 2) no repair done.
Im left wondering if this company is running some sort of hustle.

Hi D-Lor,
Canadian laws when it comes to emailing are one of the toughest. In many cases, it goes to junk mail. Unfortunately, we do not have enough employees to call and double-check if emails are received or read. I do apologize but you can always call us to know the status of your quote. At the same time, it is hard for us to identify you by your Homestar's profile username, therefore we can not do anything unless you personally decide to get in touch with our company.

Skylight Replacement

As a retired accountant, I appreciate good service.
I could not let the day go by without mentioning Arthur and his great service.
Had an old skylight but the crank to open it broke. The manufacturer could not replace it. Contacted Arthur and he came up with a solution that saved me over $3,500.
Arthur was a shining example of an honest and caring contractor- highly recommended.

Skylight Replacements

All three of our skylights leaked after a heavy rain this summer. We called around but could not reach any because of emergency repairs needed I guess. The Roof Whisperer did respond quickly by temporary stopping the leak. Their technician used a special tarp to cover the skylights. Leak stopped! We received a quotation for all three skylights to be replaced. Agreed and within two weeks skylight crew did end up replacing the skylights in a day. Great looking skylights, quality workmanship! Strongly recommend this roofing company!

Skylight Replacement

I very seldom post reviews, however felt compelled as Arthur so was so helpful when I woke up to a leaking skylight, he immediately dispatched a team to stop the leak. It got better, when it turned out my skylight needed a full replacement. His team where so detailed, explaining what was wrong, and spent two long days replacing and fixing the problem. The dedication and craftsmanship was something so special, I felt compelled to write this note of recommendation
