Oddly enough, they're the first story that pop's up......
My Mother in law called for a washer repair and paid $780 cash only to find out a couple of days later that the circuit board would take at least 2 weeks to get so she cancelled the work and purchased a new one but realized she had to pay something for the service call.
That something was $380...Pretty expensive but it is what it is.
She called every Friday from the start of September asking for her refund cheque. I found out about it in mid-November after her weekly call when she asked her for it to be sent via courier (which they charged her $30 for) and that as well was never received nor sent. How do I know, there was no tracking number.
After calling (the Customer Service manager) and leaving no less than 6 messages with no return call I went up there and would not leave until I received the cheque.
I was shocked to see phrases written on a glass office window that read "That's a good question, I'll look into that" and "I'd be upset too" leading one to conclude that this is the norm and those are standard replies for Customer Service staff to use..
So, they still deducted the $30 for the courier but now it became a matter of principal so I went up again. Naturally, there was no cheque but again, I wouldn't leave until I received it.
With all that said; I expect the company to reply and deny it which appears to be common practice so I will remind Marcella and whomever else over there about Sue from Oshawa as a gentle reminder.
This chapter is now closed and Sue will never have need to contact them again and the odds of Sue or I ever recommending them are about the same as a Monkey playing a Tuba flying out of my rear-end! Simply isn't going to happen.
Over to you "Appliance Repair Team" and let's hear how you have no record of this or even better, justify it.
