RTM Electric

I purchased a voucher (gift certificate) with this company. RTM's quote came in FAR higher than other electrician's ($200 higher, actually, for the installation of a single fixture) - I am assuming that this is because RTM did not want to take the hit that comes with doing group voucher promotions. Unfortunate start. After they performed the work, I told them that I would be covering some of the purchase price with said voucher. They informed me that if I wanted to use the voucher, it would add an additional $85 "service call charge" to the already-exorbitant total. I was angry, and refused to pay it, as it was mentioned no where, not even in the fine print that can sometimes catch people using such vouchers. He admitted that it was not actually written down anywhere, and dropped it, saying "you got off this time." However, in the end, I didn't save a dime despite the voucher, and that was pretty ugly, in my opinion. The product: looks good. They installed a ceiling fan where there was no fixture previously. They did a good job, and the actual workmanship I have no complaints about. It's a shame that RTM's billing practice was so shady, because they seem to have done a nice job of the actual work. The attempt to charge $85 based on the fact that I was using a voucher, combined with the already-inflated price of the work will certainly keep me from using this company for any further work.

Purchased a discounted Groupon for electrical services. After an earliest estimate appointment of over a month, this company did not call, return calls, turn up or respond at all. Probably a good thing that they didn't do any work for us.

Really satisfied with these guys because they were very professional and quick when it came to completing their job. They also cleaned up after themselves which was a huge bonus for me!
