ABC Waterproofing

Ever since we purchased our house my wife and I have been hiring contractors (probably 6-8 and we'll interview 3-4 more each time) and the guys at ABC are by far the best and most worry free. They gave us a thorough, well priced, quote. They foresaw one place below our deck that was going to cause us trouble were none of the other quotees even got down to look. I am a professional mechanical/aeronautical engineer and they answered every tough question I (we) threw at them. Their crews were hardworking, tough guys. But they were still conscious of the small details and worked with care. When they broke, by accident, our cheap plastic dryer vent the supervisor came and fixed it better than before. It's rare, these days, to find such pride and workmanship. Good quality, good price.

ABC Waterproofing did an excellent job for us. Their preparation is great. They did a very efficient waterproofing of the exterior and a very beautifully detail oriented interior painting. They were very good. We highly recommend them.

We have discovered a couple of wet spots on the finished basement floor last winter, but the season wasn't very rainy, and money was a problem, so we just sat on the quotes we collected from two companies who discovered a crack in the wall. During the summer the issue with the basement resurfaced - it was to be made liveable again, so we called back the companies who provided the quotes. What can I say - ABC was the one who stood up to their initial price, but they were very busy. We also called other companies, as we wanted to do it asap - but those who could do it immediately at a comparable price could not get under the deck. So, we decided to wait until ABC had a spot for us - and they did the job. Exactly like it was discussed, with all the digging and the layers of waterproofing materials. A couple of days it took, timing was not exactly perfect, but they didn't need the owners in the house at all, so it did not interfere with our schedule at all. The workers even cleaned up the dirt afterwards. The next day started a period of rains and showers, so it was a good timing after all, and nothing leaked. A job well done, thank you!

After shopping around for months for waterproofing (serious damp basement) we decided on ABC Waterproofing. I was thrown off that their quote to do the job (a 47X20 foot house) was the lowest, and that they were the only one willing to do the full perimeter job. The main obstacle for the other companies was that one wall is 20 inches away from our neighbour's wall. While not interested in doing interior waterproofing, John from ABC Waterproofing said they would do the job, and wouldn't think of doing an interior job. The next thing that threw me off was that they could start so soon, but since they would do the job we wanted, we still went with them. We are still glad we did that. 5 months later and I think the brick is finally drying out (it was that bad).

The crew was very professional and clean. They did everything right, and only had a couple of unexpected surprises which they were glad to fix. They paid a great attention to detail and even took over my paving stone project as a bonus.

So not only did we get the best price, the best job, courteous workers, they even got it done on time! Every part of the transaction was great, from the first call, the sales interview, the minor problems, it was great. Thanks for renewing my trust in contractors.
