An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.
Afshin did a decent job of inspecting our home! He was on time and he was very knowledgable about building standards. He answered most of our questions to the best of his knowledge.
He prepared a good inspection report (if we ignore the poor grammar and spelling) but he gave us the wrong password, so we were not able to access our report on his website for hours. After calling him a few times, he was persuaded that he had made a mistake and gave us a new password.
Lastly, he asked us to write a "good review" for him. He called us again to make sure we would write a perfect review for him. After I wrote him a very good review (8 stars) he called me back and complained why I gave me only 8 stars!!! I personally find it offensive that he tells you to come and write a good review for him, and when you write him a very good review, he would call you and ask why you gave him a poor review! Because of his call and his unprofessional attitude, I decided to rewrite my review and give my HONEST opinion about his work. I will not change my rating (even though now I think 8 is too high) and I hope I will not receive another call from him telling me to change my rating to a 10.
- Approximate cost of services:
- $320.00
- What could this company do to improve their services?
- I would advice Mr. Eftekhari to practice more professionally. Calling your clients and telling them to write a perfect review, and then calling them back to to tell them to go back and change their rating is not professional nor honest!
- Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
- He is not a bad inspector, he does a descent job. But receiving repeated calls from him about writing reviews is not very pleasant!
- Company Response
I am glad and happy that was able to provide you a decent service regarding the home inspection witch is my profession and the main part of my practices.
I am sorry that there was misspelling in password entry which didn't allow you log in to your page and pick up your report, Although when you called me at 10 pm week end I answered your call and correct the password right away.
I am 2nd language speaker, we both immigrated to Canada from same country, I truly accept I always have problem with English never can be perfect.
Yes, you have written a good review and low rate this surprised me so I called you to ask if there is any concern about my work or there is just an error of rating the review, when you said that you don't know anything about this review since your son had written the review and will ask him to call me. what i asked was if there is a mistake in rating please correct the review and never ask to change the rating If you think i am not deserve to have, i just called to ask if there is any comment to improve my services. Again, I respect to your opinion and appreciate your time to spend on writing the review and will definitely use your comment in future.
I am sure no one can satisfy every body %100 but i will try more.
Regards,
Afshin Eftekhari
