Technician was a super nice, competent fellow who has also done our last several annual maintenance calls. My only beef was with the $59.95 "diagnosis" charge, despite the "10-year full warranty" provision included in the purchase contract for this now seven-year old cooling system. Surely diagnostics are a labor item, and surely "full warranty" includes parts and labor.

Mel, I wanted to follow up with you. I understand your concern about the $59.95 diagnostic fee. You were wise in choosing a ten year warranty as you were not charged anything for the repair that was done for your system. The manufacturer does not cover any diagnosis with their warranty program. Unfortunately we have to figure out what is wrong before we can perform a repair. Without speaking about your specific job, the repair would have been significantly greater than the diagnostic fee.
