My husband and I are very pleased with the work that was done to make a suite downstairs for my daughter and grandson. Wes, the project manager had all the trades arrive on time and they in turn handled their projects with professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge. They cleaned up after themselves at the close of every day. We have a beautiful suite for our family, thanks to the great work from Mountainside, I would recommend the company to anyone who wants quality workmanship!

We needed our home renovation done very quickly. The house was built in 1978, needed new plumbing and the whole upstairs gutted. Mountainside started in middle of July and were done middle of September. The work performed was over and above what I expected.

It all began with a light fixture! Then came the idea that changes we had contemplated for years to fix a painfully ill-designed kitchen "might as well' be done at the same time. We called Jake at Mountainside to ask about a kitchen reno. Then we found that windows, doors, siding, etc. were all in dire need of replacement. Once the interior walls were down, we decided to install a sound system, working with the electrical contractor involved in the project. The kitchen reno involved tearing out the drywall ceiling in our finished basement, and so we ended up replacing all the drywall downstairs (it had been badly damaged by a crazy cat) the floor, light fixtures and trim. As the renovation expanded, the Mountainside team proposed each additional project without any form of pressure, which allowed us the freedom to choose to do what we really wanted. Thus the kitchen reno turned into a much-needed house reno.
We would highly recommend Mountainside for several reasons. First, the design, plan, and budget process is very careful and detailed, and they keep to it. Second, they want to do high quality work that will be beautiful and functional for many years. To that end, they have contacts with top-notch tradesmen and provided us with the best materials, building supplies, fixtures etc. available. The work was designed thoughtfully and skillfully: the floor plan is excellent and the interior design very beautiful. As the job progressed, you got the sense that Tanya and Ed really cared about every detail, as if it was their own home. Third, the cost of doing the job, hourly rates, and markups on tradesmen and materials, were exceptionally fair. Fourth, Wes, the project manager was able to organize the trades down to the hour, so everything happened systematically, and kept rolling along on schedule. We didn't have to vacate our home for any longer than planned or put up with living in a construction zone, thus taking a great deal of the pain out of the renovation process. Finally, the finished product is wonderful, even better than expected, and we are appreciating its beauty, functionality and quality more and more each day.

After living in a BC box for 16 years, the reality became apparent that the house wasn't meeting our families' needs. We had two choices: move to a contemporary open concept home with very little property and no privacy or stay in our present home and renovate. Moving into a new home meant giving up our central location and large private yard.

The staff of Mountainside Renovations made the whole process simple and straight-forward. Jake listened to our vision, Audrey designed the project with our involvement, and their professional trades staff, transformed our BC box into our dream home!

Mountainside Renovations were very professional in all of their dealing with both us and the trades people. They go out of their way to ensure that you are happy with every last detail. Their employees are courteous and respectiful. They provide as much flexibilty as needed to get the job done the way you want it done. I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone. From the planning and architecture stage to the finish carpentry and final approval they made a large job feel managable.

We met Jake and Ed at the Abbotsford Home Show and were impressed with the scope and quality of the work that was showcased. We were hesitant about undertaking this project because we have had bad experiences with contractors in the past, but felt very confident in them after our preliminary meeting.

Our designer Audrey was very helpful in working with us to achieve a vision for our new kitchen, which was completely gutted and enlarged. It is now much more functional and spacious.

Jake, Ed, Wes and all the tradespeople were professional and respectful of the fact that we were living in the house during the renovation. The site was left clean and secured each night and they did their best to free up living space for us as early as they could (we had all the main flooring and millwork re-done and therefore had to move our makeshift kitchen from room to room). The contractors showed up when they said they would and the project was completed on time and on budget.

The work done by all the trades was of very high quality and we are very pleased with the final product. We had one minor issue about a week after completion, and the tradesperson responsible was there within an hour – on a Friday night.

We would not hesitate to recommend Mountainside to anyone looking for a trusted contractor who does high quality work. We will certainly call them again if we have any future home renovation projects.

We have been living in our 1974 farmhouse for 15 years and have been renovating one room or another the entire time. We hadn't tackled the finished basement as it was a daunting job. It was almost entirely panelling over drywall, with old linoleum, red carpet, green bath fixtures - the whole 70's deal! We called Mountainside on word-of-mouth recommendations from friends who had known and dealt with them previously, as well as the ad we had seen popping up on facebook. Our first meeting was comfortable, pressure-free, and eye-opening. The basement of our dreams was definitely not a project we could handle on our own.
Jake, Wes, Deanna and the entire team were helpful, knowledgeable, respectful of our home and family, and most importantly to us we were always comfortable having them in our home. We appreciated being in touch via the basecamp website, and were always notified of changes, budget, and scheduling. We are extremely happy to have a beautiful basement that now fits the needs of our family and is now being used!! Thanks guys - it was a pleasure.

When deciding to build new or renovate an existing home there were no shortage of contracting companies willing to work with us. However, we wanted to find an honest and reputable company that would work with our pesty questions, within our budget and allow us to be engaged at all stages of the process.

Mountainside Contracting appealed to us for several reasons and our decision to work with them paid off significantly. Our initial consultation was exactly what we wanted, a presure free discussion helping us see a vision of turning our older, small acreage home into an executive home that satified our wants and needs.

The design process was actually fun and allowed us to play with lines, sizes and spaces. We had great expectations of our dream home and having someone make "engineering and construction sense" of our vision produced the home that we always wanted.

We know that we were demanading clients. Mountainside worked with us at every stage of the process and helped to suggest modifications on the go to meet our changing financial situtation.

The end product is fantastic. We have visitors asking when we built the new house.
