Poor Quality Windows, Terrible Service

New windows installed in June 2017 - generally a pretty good installation. The windows are poor quality or badly designed. The screens don't fit properly with no bottom track for them to fit into. As a result, the screen frame doesn't fully contact the window sill (see photo) and insects crawl through the gaps. I am surprised how many insects find those gaps! In all of our houses/windows, I have never seen this configuration. I've been looking at windows in other houses we visit and haven't seen this design. If I add a piece of foam tape to the bottom of the screen, will that stop rain getting out? How will it be in 10 years!
One of the new windows arrived with a small tear in the screen. The installer promised to return with a new screen in 1 to 6 weeks. After 6 more calls and promises to come out "next week", I'm now promised the screen will be replaced today! If they show up, they promised to look at the poorly fitting screens as well, but I'm not sure because I believe it is a poor design and not easily fixed without the manufacturer designing something.
I feel foolish for making the assumption that Home Depot Canada would provide a decent quality product and reasonable customer service. They failed miserably. I should know better and should have shopped around and checked references.
