My husband and I recently hired Lux Design to create designs for two spaces in our new house, including painting, stencilling and wallpapering. At the end of the process we could not be more dissatisfied. Our experience began with our designer Ashley, who at first did a great job. Her designs were exactly what we were looking for. Only problem is we gave her a budget of $30,000 total for both rooms not including painting. We figured she would go over by $5,000, but our jaws dropped when she handed us an invoice for $69,000. After telling Ashley we needed to slow down the project a bit, she did not respond to any of my emails for close to two weeks. When she finally did, she told us she would be leaving Lux and we would now be working with a new designer, Natalie. Just when we thought things were going to get better, they got much worse. Every email interaction with Natalie made it seem like we were low priority and wasting her time. She would also not email me back for weeks on end. After expressing 3 months in advance that we absolutely needed to have the painting completed before we moved in...this is far from what we got. During the week that the painter was supposed to be working at our home, I let Natalie know that I would be showing up on site to see the progress. When I did show up on site, there was nothing completed. In a panic my husband called Lux and spoke with Christine (operations) who informed us that our painted walked off site, demanding more money. (I was there 3 months prior when he was quoting the job). They were in the process of finding a painting team to do the job in one day. The day before our moving date, I arrive on site and am told by the team leader that the job would not be done by our move date. All the while Natalie has not informed us of any of these details. As we are moving in our stuff, the painters are still there working. We couldn't be more insulted by the team Lux hired. They were completely disrespectful of our home and did a terrible job. In serval places they hit the ceiling and did not touch it up afterwards, actually painted OVER nails without taking them out, left hundreds of nails all over the floor (we have an infant son crawling through nails...), and their left over lunch garbage all over our counter tops. After this, another chase to hunt down where our lighting was. Every time I would email Natalie asking her about the lighting, stencilling and wallpapering, she would respond with an excuse to let me know by the end of the day...and than not. Weeks later, out of frustration my husband calls her to find out what exactly is going on and Natalie was extremely rude and said "that it wasn't her job". At this point, my husband and I decided it would be foolish of us to give anymore money to this design company and in our best interest to cut our losses. At the end of this process all we have is a horrible paint job and some lighting( we finally received). I was able to find contractors to do the wallpapering and stencilling in one day. With a little research I was also able to find exactly where to get all the furniture ourselves for a lot less. I wanted to write this long detailed review to warn others to stay away from this design company. The designers are disrespectful and only care about your money.
