I love my new outdoor space!

I was very pleased with the work that Lloyd's landscaping did. I keep looking outside and smiling. We even get compliments from passing neighbours about the work. They did front walkway, porch, back patio, installed a lamp post, did side walkway, re-graded our front and back lawns, re-roofed our shed and took some unwanted trees away. We are very happy with the work that Scott and his team did. They have a wonderful family business. Very professional work and at very reasonable cost. I highly recommend them. Book now!

Large Backyard Landscape

We have a large backyard that needed landscaping but also had a very wet lawn. The space was a virtual blank canvas save for a pool to incorporate into the plans.

We opted to go with Lloyd's because we were looking for landscapers who could assist in all components of the work from drainage solutions, to yard layout to fencing. Lloyd's assured us they were experienced with all of the different work we asked to have completed and we were reassured that they were based on their many years in business.

At our insistence, no work was going ahead without a detailed plan as to how the entire yard would look at completion so that there would be no surprises and anyone working on the site would have a plan to reference as needed. Lloyd's referred us to a landscape designer that they work with. Again, in the interests of continuity, we used Kimara. When we met her, we had a good idea of the type of spaces we wanted incorporated into the yard, ideas for the overall feel of the space and materials we favoured as well as a sketch we had done ourselves. Our goal using her was to pull everything together so that it was seamless and made sense structurally given the grading of the yard. Her end drawing, while listing many lovely planting options and looking nice, WAS NOT TO SCALE. Not even close, despite having been to the yard on multiple occasions. Of course, this was not discovered until the project was underway.

Work on the yard was began fall 2015 and completed spring 2016. It was bothersome that after a string of nice weather, we had to contact Lloyd's to find out when work might resume on the yard. We understand that they have many years of experience and know what comes next, but communication of the timeline and when we could expect work was not forthcoming. It felt like we had to nag to get any information about our project.

Because water was a major issue in our yard, much planning went into appropriate drainage systems. Before work was completed in May 2016, we expressed concerns to the workers, including Scott that water was draining from one area and creating a problem in an entirely new area. These concerns were dismissed at the time with a "wait and see" approach. Sure enough, we have a significant problem now (summer 2017). We alerted Lloyd's in January 2017 with photographs demonstrating how their drainage solution was impacting our neighbour's yard and creating a significant hazard on the sidewalk. We were told that there wasn't anything that could be done until the spring. Paul came to do a quick check of any problem areas March 2017. He then sent an invoice to "fix" the problem in April 2017. A problem that did not exist until they had done work. We asked that someone come out so we could meet and go over an itemized list of deficiencies and Ritchie finally made in early June 2017.

Ritchie seemed to understand our concerns and took notes and photos of the problems that needed repairing, which as we understand it, all fall under the Lloyd's warranty (another reason we were confident using them). After waiting a month to hear from Lloyd's about a plan of action to solve the problems, we contacted them again. Paul seemed surprised by the list of problems and shocked that we would be in touch again. After explicitly outlining to him in writing the issues, we have yet to hear back. Even if they need time to come up with a solution, some acknowledgement of the concern and an assurance that they are working on it, along with a timeline as to when a response/action will take place would be welcome customer service.

The feigned surprise every time they are reminded of an issue that needs to be addressed is exhausting. It happened throughout the project and when we are trying to tie up all loose ends, it is extraordinarily frustrating.

In fairness to Lloyd's, we have held off reviewing them for this long to see the project through to completion. At this rate however, it looks like that could be a long time coming. Given our experience up to this point, we would hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.

Backyard reconstruction/landscaping

I can't say enough about my experience with Lloyds Landscaping and the owner Brian. From day one they were constantly in touch with me, asking my opinions, suggesting alternatives to enhance the final product. The staff were amazing - so professional - I can't think of one negative thing to say. They were meticulous in every aspect of the job and the final product - nothing was missed and unlike so many other contractors they cleaned and washed down everything upon completion. Brian was on site regularly. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting a professional job.

Landscaping

The job started with removal of the front lawn and small Hill close to the house. Next the front Landing was increased in size with the pouring of concrete which eliminated two sets of stairs on either side of the landing. The Landing was faced with Decorative Stone as was the top. Still working. With the addition of decorative retaining walls new front steps and walkway. A new black railing was installed. Finishing touches included parging the old concrete foundation blocks and driveway Sealing finished the look. Lloyd's Landscaping was a pleasure to deal with they listened to our ideas and added some of their own and we came up with a finished product that we just love. We've had many compliments by Neighbors and many passersby stop and look.

Backyard patio

I could not be more pleased with our new patio!! From the moment the team showed up I knew I had made a wise choice going with a family business. Everyone had a great work ethic and took great care to make sure that things were done perfectly. Communication was timely if I had any questions, and cleanup was immaculate. They even topped up all my beds and planted a few things. I will certainly have them back to do the front!! Thank you to all involved.

Front Entrance Interlock Landscape

From start to finish all the staff we dealt with were very courteous, respectful of our property and they listened every step of the way. It is a family business and at every stage we were dealing with a brother, an uncle, a son, a cousin or a nephew. They worked very well together and had a strong care and concern for the client as they were all working hard to uphold their family name. They weren't happy unless we were happy. We had obtained other quotes from local contractors whom either didn't want the job or intentionally inflated their prices for high profits. They told us we couldn't get the job done right at a lower price. They were wrong... the team at Lloyds dug deep for a proper base making our surface strong. They also suggested covering our cement pad at the entrance making the look of the finished product elegant. We are extremely happy with our entrance and get comments on how wonderful it looks from neighbours and people who walk past from the community. We strongly recommend working with the wonderful family team from Lloyds for your landscape project.

Backyard patio, pergola and gardens

The guys that worked on my yard were professional, courteous and a pleasure to have in "my space". It was obvious from the start that they absolutely knew what they were doing. It impressed me that Rick was hands on everyday to make sure that things were progressing as I envisioned. The job site was kept clean and they cleaned up front and back every night when they left. I am thrilled that they were able to transform my vision to reality. I would absolutely recommend Lloyds Landscaping!!!

Pathway and Steps

I would recommend getting detailed plans when doing a large landscape job. The company was timely and the guys did a good job. I had this job done last summer. We did need a couple of minor repairs this year. The company was very responsive. Scott was here immediately when we called and did another small job for us at the same time. Scott is very service oriented and we are pleased with his quick response when we called them for service.

Company Response

We are sorry you were not completely satisfied with the work, however we have no call regarding any issues. We have a 2 year warranty on our workmanship and would definitely like to fix any issues with the project for you. The manufacturer has a one year warranty on stone so if there are broken ones we can take of this at no cost to you. If finishing the job is part of our original scope of work we can ensure it is completed thoroughly and if it is outside of the original scope we can look after this as well for you. We certainly want you to be happy and stand behind the work that we do.

Front walkway and driveway accent

Lloyd's did a great job on our front walkway. Adding a huge stone step and beautiful multi-coloured square stone interlock. We had them put the stone right on our concrete porch, which really made it look great! They added a curved edge stone accent to the top end of the driveway, which tied in to the walkway, giving the front a nice flow. Overall we were very happy with their service and would definitely use them again next time.

Front Walkway And Steps

Happy is an understatement!   From the moment Chris showed up to have a look at my space, I knew I was in good hands.   Chris was amazing putting it all together. I was very (very) indecisive about what I wanted and he told me to trust him.   He came up with a plan that was beyond beautiful!!  I'm sure I drove him crazy with frantic calls and questions, but he never made me feel like I was bugging him, I felt like I was more than just a customer.   Thanks to Richie and all the guys that got the job done.   They did a fantastic job executing the plan from beginning to end!!  My son thinks the Lloyds guys are superheros.. he's right, they made my house go from the worst on this end of the block to the best!   I love how the entire job turned out and I can't wait for spring to see my new pink flowers.   I am so glad that I trusted them!
