Brookfield Homes

Brookfield was great from the first contact with the sales person and everything was as promised. Timing was perfect, to the day, the decor appt was perfect and the delivery and follow up with the home was perfect. I would highly reccommned this builder to anyone who is looking to buy a new home!

I purchased a Brookfield Home in Bowmanville. This is my second home from a builder and could not believe the difference in the two builders. My nightmare started in the Decor Centre, the staff were rude and not helpful. They did not know there information and changed there answers to question often and in the end the answer was still wrong. Frustrated and upset I contacted higher management whom did not contact me back until I called the second time, he still couldn't give me a proper answer. I was thankfully finished with the decor centre, even though I was not happy with there service and outcome of my home. Once the house was built I went for my PDI what a JOKE!!! What was the point of all the green tape place on tile and walls. The finishes were as if monkeys worked on the house. I received our keys today when I went in the house all the green tape was gone but the work was not done. Do they think that I am stupid? I am truly insulted. I spent over $50,000.00 in upgrades and the resulted is terrible. My flat ceilings are finished terribly, my tiles are chipped, raised and there are spots where there is no grout. My stairs are not finished with trim there is a 1/2" gap on a tread and a coffee stain on the step. Cant forget the pile of little pieces of wood that they placed to hide there mistakes. Not only did I have to walk into a house that was finished terribly, the lights in one bedroom and hallway did not work. I am totally discussed and can not believe that this is the product that a company claims to be the best. I have been approached by many people interested in purchasing a home in Bowmanville, and I would never let them buy a Brookfield Home. Why would I want to put then through the same nightmare that I have gone and am going through.

I recently bought a brookfield home and it is turning out to be one of the biggest mistakes of my life. They are building along side another builder and we where told they offered the same finishes. We later find out that this is not the case and that the other builder is offering over $14,000 of upgrades that Brookfield is trying to get us to pay for. After a long battle and speaking with the president all I got was "to bad we are not doing anything for you". Once the home began construction things got worse the quality of work was terrible partially due to the amount of alcohol consumption on the job site. Carpentry was passed and there where major issues that should not have been passed. Plumbing was passed, being a plumber I looked at it and concluded it should have never passed and I have a feeling the inspector never even looked at the job. I brought all these issues to Brookfield's attention and they have done nothing but ignore all my calls and emails. It was only until I contacted the inspectors myself to complain did I get a letter form Brookfield not to go into the building. I guess they did not like me stirring up all there dirty secrets. I would never recommend such a poorly managed company with such poor quality standards.
On the bright side the Ladies in the sales office are awesome and very helpful. Hope this review helps you not make the same mistake I did Buy a Brookfield Home. Upon Moving in I requested a inspection with the building inspector to sort out some building code infractions that Brookfield homes would not deal with. The inspector made them fix the issues and pointed out many other deficiencies in the home and requested that they get fixed. The company is not will to work with you in any way once they have your money good luck your smile will soon turn upside down. Hopefully this helps you decide whether you are going to make the same mistake we did.

We bought our second home from Brookfield and they were a far cry from the builder of our last home, both in quality, attentiveness to detail, and customer service. We bought a lot of upgrades with this house and they really went the extra mile to ensure we were happy with what we purchased, as well as very accommodating about changes we wanted done with the floor plan. I would buy from them again in a heart beat!!
