Fairney and Sons' contractors and carpenters have been a pleasure to work with over the last year as we completed a full renovation of our outdoor spaces including waterproofing the basement following a flood. We experienced significant delays due to the city of Toronto permitting process and the Fairney and Sons team patiently worked around these obstacles to complete the job as quickly as possible. Communication is timely and all expenses are explained. The quality of workmanship, in particular the carpentry, is exceptional. I would not hesitate to recommend Fairney and Sons to my friends and neighbors.

Bill and his team had done excellent stonework on our neighbour's driveway and steps, and so we decided to call them for an estimate for our front porch and back deck. It's an old house and both were big jobs: total demolition and rebuild, with some customizations and inevitable surprises along the way.

Bill is straightforward and professional, providing quick estimates and communicating proactively about the job. With our permission, he took the initiative to refer us to other contractors about other work that needed to be done and coordinated the work with ease.

The team who built our porch and deck (Adam, Sean and Shawn) were friendly, quick and took care to pay attention to detail and ensure the carpentry was solid, safe and beautiful for our home. This was important with a toddler at home who loves to play outside! The whole job was done in two weeks with their consistent effort despite the heat wave and smoke. We had a backyard deck that we wanted to turn into a screened porch. We got several estimates and we trusted Bill as he had done work for us before. The porch has far exceeded our expectations! The work was done so well and without leaving any mess! It was a breeze. Now we have a wonderful bug free porch that looks like it came out of Home and Garden!

I noticed my front porch and stairs were flaking a little bit. The boss came out and looked at the bricks and gave me an estimate which I thought was reasonable. Then the actual contractor came and discovered a lot of problems. The top of the porch was an addition. I hadnt even noticed that the porch was slanted though by the door jamb I shouldve figured that out. The bricks had started crumbling, and the mortar was crap and in the end, though it was more expensive, I have a safe, beautiful front porch and steps. It is so well-made it will outlive me.

After several ill-fated attempts, it took me several years to find a contractor that I could trust in rebuilding my chimney! Then Bill Fairney came along. Bill was professional, easy to work with, took time to explain things, checked the quality of the work in progress and ensured all was completed on schedule. Kudos to Michael (on his team) whose workmanship and resourcefulness went way beyond expectations! Thank you for a job very well done! We had a persistent leak in our kitchen ceiling that was coming from the extension on our house. Bill and his team completed a repair by stripping all the siding, replacing it with a nice matching colour and replacing the window capping to keep out water in the future. Throughout the process from quote to completion Bill has been very responsive and good with answering our questions.

It rained this morning, and so far so good!

Bill came by to give a free quote and was very professional and transparent. I hired him to do some roofing and eaves work and the team did a great job, completed the work cleanly and on time. Would definitely hire Fairney in the future!

They came quickly and did the work in a few hours and cleaned up very well. We are happy!

The first thing that struck me when I began working with Fairney &Sons was that Bill Fairney genuinely cared about helping with the problems in my house. My basement flooded early in the year and I had called a company that I had worked with before and left messages every day for 8 days about the flooding in my basement but no one called me back. I then called Fairney & Sons because I received their flyer in my mailbox and Bill called me right back. He had someone come over the next day, who immediately drained my basement, which was an enormous relief.
He also called me back later to make sure my basement wasnt flooding again.
A few weeks later my ceiling started to leak, and based on the great service I had received, I called Bill again. His workers showed up on time, fixed the roof and cleaned up all of the mess outside because I had mentioned the importance of maintaining a good relationship with my neighbours with whom I share a path above which the roof repairs were being done.
Without me asking, Bill sent me photos of the roof before it was fixed and after, so that I could verify what had been done. The costs were exactly as stated on the invoices he provided me in advance and there were no surprises.
I will be underpinning my basement and have already started working with Bill and his team to get that done.
I dont work with people who provide less than exemplary work. I have had contractors who didnt show up when they said they would, didnt do the work that they said they would, have had to be called multiple times to return to complete work they left unfinished and did not provide correct information about timelines for completing their work, all of which can be incredibly stressful. When I deal with Bill, it is always easy, straightforward and stress-free.
