Basement Floor, Drywall, Miscellaneous Carpentry
We hired John back in April to replace some water damaged flooring in our basement. We had recently purchased a "renovated" house, but the quality of the work varied greatly. John uncovered floor boards shimmed with paper and a drain hole that was boarded over. He ended up redoing most of the basement floor, installing a proper subfloor, then doing his best with the easily breakable flooring we'd bought from Costco. He kept us informed, gave us options and calmly handled changes in the plan.
John also fixed some holes in drywall, so well that you couldn't tell the wall was ever damaged. He made our bedroom much more livable by reversing a door and adjusted the molding around a sliding door closet after we'd replaced the slides.
John is personable, communicates well, and has a good sense of humor.
He does excellent work. He even made a DIY homeowner feel important by borrowing some clamps.
When we were requesting quotes, John was the only one who (quickly) came out to inspect the worksite. I also appreciate that once he starts a job, he works on it full time until it's done. He did a very good job of cleaning everything up once he was done.
My wife and and I were both very pleased with John and would certainly hire him for future projects.
