As a new homeowner, I wanted to ensure that the main floor design reflected my style and vision for the space. Sara Kidder was excellent at helping me determine what would work best for the space, providing meaningful suggestions on how to achieve the monochromatic look I was going for. She was very friendly, respectful of your time and ideas. I would not hesitate to recommend Sara to my friends and look forward to hiring her again for other areas of my home.

My husband and I were having our home fully renovated and decided we would need help in choosing finishes. I received some literature about Sarah Kidder Designs and gave her a call, not knowing exactly what I needed or what she could do for me. Her professionalism put me at ease, and two weeks later she was at my house for the first consultation. After that initial meeting, my husband and I were very impressed with her knowledge, and suggestions. She got us thinking about things we had never even considered, but that were essential to our project. She not only helped us with the design and finishes, but helped us be more knowledgeable in meeting with our contractor. Sarah was excellent at taking our ideas and preferences and coming up with something we loved. Sarah assisted us with paint colour throughout our home, finishings for kitchen and bathrooms (including placement of tiles), lighting design and outside siding. She was professional and friendly with the contractors we asked her to meet with. Sarah was always available when we needed her, even in our minor emergencies. Her professionalism, knowledge, suggestions and great eye for design contributed to making our renovation a pleasant experience. And thanks to Sarah, we have a gorgeous kitchen!

I hired Sarah to design and oversee my kitchen renovations. She took the time to understand my tastes and wishes and did an excellent job overseeing the project. My husband and I took possession of a fully renovated bungalow in the Spring 2014, and we quickly realized that it wasn’t as well renovated as we thought! We knew of Sarah from other work she had done at friends and family, so we decided to hire her to help make the space a better reflection of “us”. She created a design concept that introduced innovative ideas, but that touched upon our traditional wants (comfort, casual elegance, affordability…). We worked with her at finding suitable furniture and décor pieces that were in keeping with her design, the colour palette and our overall style… and there was great cooperation. She made herself available (in person, by phone or text) whenever we wanted to explore an idea, and provided honest feedback. It was truly a joint effort, and we feel like our ideas and wishes were considered and respected.

She was also able to refer us to great trades for the renovation work. We needed to have walls repaired and painted, lights and window treatment installed…and she was there at every step of the way to validate and give further direction.

Sarah is extremely easy to work with, professional and knowledgeable. She’s a good listener, and is practical and realistic. We will definitely be using her services again as we move on to another project, and we recommend her without hesitation.

After renovating 2 bathrooms just using the help of a bathroom renovation company, we asked Sarah to design bathroom #3. It has been far and away the best bathroom and the most economical of the three. My husband was unsure about using an interior designer, but has been completely won over by Sarah. Sarah was a pleasure to work with and knew exactly what we would like. We love it!

I want to thank you for the wonderful work. I came home tonight and could not believe that this was my home. It’s now a warm, beautiful and sophisticated space. I can’t thank you enough, there is no way we could have gotten to this result without your input.

Prior to contacting Sarah Kidder my husband and I come up with a design for our kitchen, a kitchen that presented many obstacles. We’ve always been the “do it yourself” kind of people and I thought we were ready to go. However, my husband suggested we meet with a professional to have them look at our design before begining any work.
Sarah arrived with her tape measure and laptop in hand, asked us all kinds of questions and listened intensely. She left our home agreeing to draw up some designs based on our conversation. She did that and more! She presented our ideas and several of her own. Needless to say when we saw her designs ours became a thing of the past and we moved forward with hers. I still remember how excited I was when I first saw them. She managed to transform our tight awkward kitchen into one with a modern look and feel to it. It was spacious with lots of storage, just what we wanted. Sarah was able to look past the existing kitchen and visualize what it could be.
Although we had our own professionals do the work, Sara is clearly well connected to a variety of professionals in the different fields. Sarah’s design is where it really all began and we are extremely pleased with our new kitchen. She is very personable, attentive and professional and we would not hesitate to refer her to family and friends.
