In 2014 we hire Rick Hayden, Owner of Hayden Renovations after consulting with a number of other local contractors. One of the key factors that stood out was that Rick went out of his way to be present when quoting and explaining the quote. Additionally, where possible his discounts were passed along to us and explained. While for some this may seem unimportant it goes along way in goodwill when there is a bump in the renovation road, and there are always bumps.
As for the important aspects when determining who to hire for your next project - Rick and his crews are on time, normally arriving at 8:30 am and leaving 4:00 pm (crew stayed late when required). Quotes for projects, in my case, were 15% lower than others performing the same tasks. When considering a budget of 10,000 or so this can be an added savings.
All of our projects were completed by Rick. Our projects were completed on-time and on budget, critically important for those on a tight or specific budget and crucial if you are borrowing funds from your local financially institution. Finally, some of the things that cannot be quantified are the number of times that Rick came by to make sure our family was ok during the reno process or the number of times when an odd job needed to be completed or during reno something extra needed to be rectified he did so many times without additional charges. Last note, Rick and his crews are polite, well dressed representing the company, punctual, and leave the work organized once they leave. If you are considering a reno I highly recommend a conversation with Rick, and I am sure you will agree that his abilities can fit your vision and pocket book.

We contacted Rick for a quote to build a deck and we were impressed with his quick response and professionalism. When we hired him to do the work he gave us a rough time-frame for work to start and kept us informed with changes to his schedule. We were very happy when the deck was completed before the date he promised. It was completed exactly as planned and we're impressed with the quality of workmanship.

We're very pleased with our new bathroom. Rick and crew did a great job. They were friendly and kept things tidy with drop cloths to protect things and consistent vacuuming - easy people to have around for the duration of the project. Rick kept us apprised of progress and when plumbing, tiling and other phases were scheduled. There were a few minor setbacks, but Rick calmly dealt with them and our bathroom was finished on time and as quoted. Thanks to Hayden Renovations for a totally positive renovation experience. Rick Hayden worked with us from design,through material selection to final completion. Craftmanship and attention to detail were evident throughout the entire project. He was on time, on budget and left the job site clean and tidy every day. The doors fit and operate perfectly. The trim, including a re-surfaced built-in bookcase, is virtually seamless and we couldn't be more pleased with the structure and appearance of our new oak stairs and handrails.

I hired Hayden Renovations to renovate a bathroom in a house that I am currently renting. The price was good, they completed the job in a timely manner and my tenants told me the workers who came in were very polite and professional. When I saw the final result, I was blown away.
