I had 3 other quotes from competitors, I found Brent (owner of Shift Air mechanical) called him to come give me a Quote! He showed up was in surveyed what I had, told me he would send me his quote! He came in considerably less expensive than the rest! One company for the same model was double the cost!! Brent and his Associate Scott showed up when promised completed everything in a neat and tidy fashion! Was very professional , informative and saved me even more money when he said my thermostat would work with my new Furnace. Brent is a stand up individual, does what he says and is a credit to his industry! It is refreshing to find an Honest,Caring Hardworking individual these days to do Quality work in your home. I had Brent and his crew install a new furnace and air conditioner. Brent was very personable and efficient in every aspect of the job. The whole installation took a day and I am very pleased with the work that was done.

We just bought a house in Calgary and were faced with old HVAC, no AC and a utility room that made it impossible to do laundry. Brent was the most professional and helpful of many quotes we received and he worked with us every step of the way to solve the numerous problems that arise in any older home remodel. He consulted with us about any changes that needed to be made to the plan (something other contractors we've had working on our house have failed to do) and immediately addressed issues we had with the work of some of his subcontractors.
Now, we have a beautifully heated a cooled home, a laundry machine we can use, and a utility room with more storeage than we though possible.

We had five companies into discuss A/C units and to my complete amazement it was a shock how poor the detail and follow up or lack of service occurred with the majority of outfits - Brent hit all the wants with his detail / no pressure style and complete service on instal - I will be recommending Brent to friends.

We appreciated the quality of workmanship Shift Air delivered. We selected a York CZF A/C system and Brent and his team did a wonderful job. What really impressed us was Brent's commitment to quality workmanship. The pride in his work was clearly evident in the final result. Brent and his associate installed a new York energy efficient 80,000 BTU, 95.5% efficient furnace in September of 2011. We are very satisfied with the installation. The furnace has been working fine ever since. For the installation, he arrived on the agreed day,at the time he said, with all the equipment and tools to do the job. And the installation, clean up and old furnace hauled away on the same day afternoon.

Brent (the Shiftair owner) was recommended to us from another contractor who replaced our windows. We had 2 furnaces replaced with high efficiency units and a hot water tank replaced with a high efficiency tank. We have a 30 year old house so there was a fair bit of work getting the old units out and the new ones in. Brent and his crew basically had the units replaced in one long day so we didn't have to go without heat (it was November). He had the units set up and running but had to return the next day to finish installing the controllers. We had a few problems with the controllers and sensors initially and Brent was quick to return our emails and try to walk us through the set up. When that didn't work, Brent came back and set them up (had to call the manufacturer) so that all was working as it should. We have had no problems since. Overall, we are very happy with the new furnaces and hot water tank. Brent was very professional and good to work with. We would definitely recommend Shiftair.

We found Shift Air Mechanical on Home Stars, along with a few other contractors. We had 3 estimates from different companies, all offering pretty much the same product with slightly different installation options. Brent from Shift was very punctual, professional and treated us very well. His quote came in slightly under the others, and we felt really comfortable with his approach and attitude. The job went well, he came in, took all the time required to do a good job, explaining all details to me in advance. I'm pretty sure the job took longer than expected, perhaps the rain was a factor, but he held to his original estimate. Most of the communication was done online via email, including invoicing.

Brent was very good at following up on several occasions, showing that he cared about us and his work. If you are going to get an A/C done, go with Brent.

After a winter of furnace flakiness and a potential summer of 29 degress above inside the house (we get a ton of sun in the morning and evening), we decided to replace the old furnace and hot water tank, as well as get a new AC and humidifier, all at once, to minimize the labour costs. I spoke with a few HVAC resources, some too big (very expensive estimates), some too small (no confidence they could actually do the job), and after talking to Brent at Shift Air, one just right.

Brent's estimate was professional and reasonable, and after weighing a few options (he was very patient with me as I tried to make up my mind as to exactly what I wanted), the estimate he gave me was exactly (to the penny) what the end cost of the job turned out to be.

Not only did Brent always show up on time and return my questions in a timely fashion (some places didn't return phone calls or voice messages), he always gave me the impression the entire time he actually cared about the quality of work he was to deliver, which really went a long way in my book. Brent enjoys doing the job well, and it shows in the quality of his work.

The job itself took a couple days (the time he said it would), and Brent and his crew (very nice people) were always positive and clearly working hard. All of our old stuff was removed from site the first day, and everything was hooked up and working properly by the middle of the second day, an excellent accomplishment, given the scope of the job. There were no surprises or things that came up on the job, like I said earlier my invoice was the exact amount of Brent's original estimate.

Overall, I am very happy with Brent's work, and would recommend him and Shift Air to anyone interested in getting quality HVAC work done at a reasonable price.
