HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1885. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE LEVELING & PREPARATION TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OF STEEL.

AN EXISTING PITCH CHANGE IN THE ROOF BETWEEN THE UPPER LEVEL & LOWER LEVEL THAT WAS ORIGINALLY BUILT CROOKED (WENT FROM A DISTINCTIVE CHANGE ON ONE SIDE TO THE UPPER LEVEL JUST ROLLING INTO THE LOWER ON THE OTHER SIDE). PITCH WAS STRAIGHTENED OUT PERFECTLY & LOOKS GREAT.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB & THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS LOOKS NICE & STRAIGHT.

Roofing contractors were very good, however hygrade themselves we found were not very efficient, it was extremely difficult to pin them down to a time frame and we were never informed of any information voluntary from Hygrade. It was always us chasing them trying to find out a date. Originally we were told maybe June when we paid our deposit, roof was completed in October after numerous phone calls. Their lack of communication we found very frustrating.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback for us. Due the nature of our business we are not able to provide installation dates at the time of contract signing but rather estimates based on current wait times. Wait times can be affected by many factors including availability of crews, unexpected project delays or advances, weather delays, etc. For this reason, we provide estimates with updates approaching your installation. At the time of your contract singing, we provided an estimated wait time of August. Due to many of the above factors, the wait time in your area was extended. We do ask our Roofing Consultants to keep their customers updated during the wait and are always available at Head Office to assist with this as well.
Since the time of your contract signing we have also added a “Hy-Grade Welcome Call” into our order approval process. In this call we confirm the wait time estimate you’ve received, we ensure you received your welcome letter which details the process between contract singing and installation and we also ask your preference on how often you’d like to be contacted with an update. Unfortunately, this was implemented shortly after your order was approved. Since its implementation however, we have received lots of positive feedback and have been able to improve our communication with customers.
It’s because of customers providing their feedback, like you have, that we’ve been able to continually improve on the service we provide to our Hy-Grade Family. Thank you once again for taking the time and we are positive you will enjoy the peace-of-mind that comes with your Hy-Grade Roof for many years to come!

Steel shingle roof

They installed a wooden lattice on top of the asphalt roof and attached the steel shingles to the wooden lattice, so there is air flow under the steel roof to remove any hot spots from heat leaking from the attic. It looks terrific. Hopefully it will perform as well as it looks!

The job started on time. Supplies delivered a week before the job started. I had to remind and follow them with the cleanup from day 1. They told me a major cleanup at the end. Each day after they left i found more garbage they missed. They left their lunch scraps on the ground. My dog could have got sick from this or cut her feet on the pieces of steel left on the ground. Some were too big to miss. They promised to come at 7:00a.m. on a Saturday ; the crew pulled in at 8:30 a.m and the foreman rolled in at 9:00 a.m. with his girlfriend. At 1:00 p.m. they ran out of shingles. The foreman said he would be there Sunday morning at 9:00 to some work. At 10:00 a.m. no sign of him. I left a note expressing unhappy with not cleaning up grabage well and being late. Alesh apologized for the miscalculation of the shingles. On the south side of the garage shingles were laid on roof. A strong rain and wind blew them down. Alesh inspected the finished job and seemed happy. I had a question about the garage chimney not looking pleasing.
To this day i am still picking up pieces of steel, screws nail and garbage. Please tell your crew clean as they go. This disappointed me. I expected better than that from professional installers.

I DO NOT KNOW IF I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CREW AS THEY NEEDED CONSTANT REMINDING ON CLEANUP AND BEING ON TIME. VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!!!!! APPRECIATED THE DISCOUNT THOUGH.

Clean up at the end of each day and at project completion is a priority for us and the expectation is communicated very clearly to our installation crews. You did make us aware of your concerns during the installation and this information was dealt with accordingly with our crew. Our Project Manager did communicate the concerns to our crew and our Roofing Consultant made an on-site visit as well. Our installation crews do not have set start and end times as this varies by crew as well as external factors like local by-laws and travel times. This crew was travelling from out of town each day to complete this installation and this did have an effect on their start and end times. Crews are not required to work over the weekend but some do choose to in order to complete jobs as soon as possible, as in this case. We are unsure of the discount you’re referring to but should you have any questions about this, our Accounting department would be happy to help during office hours.
We are happy to report that your Hy-Grade Steel Roofing System has passed our Quality Control inspection performed by our in-house QC Inspector. Your roof is now under our 50-Year No Leak Warranty as well as our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. We are confident that your new Hy-Grade Roof will protect your home for at least the next 50 Years.

We love the eoof itself but had ao many problems with the installation job. They left a meas all over our lawn everyday, the did not tarp the roof and it leaked, what was suppose to be a 4 day job turned into 4 weekends. We loved the end result but the 4 weeks it took was very disappointing.

We did run into some challenges during the installation of your roof but feel we made the best effort to overcome the circumstances. There were changes to your order during installation including the addition of two skylight replacements. There was also a leak occurring pre-installation at a certain section of your roof along with heat-loss condensation issues. We investigated the issue and recommended solutions. We do strive for a seamless installation process on all of our jobs but unfortunately, this was not the case for this installation. There were unexpected challenges that arose during the process and we ensured we addressed each accordingly. Before completing the job we ensured all sections of our roofing system met our Hy-standards and we could confidently warranty your roof for the next 50 years. steel shingle roof job

We balked initially because the projected start date was further out than expected. They scheduled us in earlier though. Work took only 2 days because our roof has a simpler design. Cost was less than the price of 2 premium roofing jobs so it was a no-brainer. Relatively low-pressure sales sell was appreciated. Would have been nice if the salesperson had reco'd that we do eaves and soft before the roof job though. So far no issues detected with the job they've done. We have not gone through a winter yet but I expect no issues. I am happy that they are a local, stable, company and have been in the business for decades. I am happy to know that it's unlikely we will pay for another roof job in my lifetime, and if there are any issues with the product or job done, the company will stand behind their work with no hassle or quibbles.
