Metal Roof

I am a new home owner who was unfortunately stuck with the mammoth task of replacing my roof. I shopped around many asphalt roofing companies and I also asked my friends about their experiences with roofs. I had asphalt quotes approximating near what I paid for my metal roof. So after these asphalt quotes I thought of considering a permanent metal solution. I was thinking in this mindset as I calculated that eventually I would be spending seven to eight thousand dollars every ten years following this roof so I came to the conclusion of spending ten thousand dollars once and have a permanent roof. Then came the barbaric task of choosing the right roofing company. I have gone through multiple companies until I found HY-GRADE. Their unique metal roofing system got me hooked to their roof and I decided on this company to do my roof. everything was going well until my plumber came over to attach my Kitchen range hood and bathroom exhaust fan. He told me that the vents the roofing company installed were 3 inch ABS where we needed a 6 inch galvanized steel exhaust vent. I called the roofing company and explained my problem to them. They called back a few days later saying that to fix my problem they would have to remove the existing vents an replace them with larger 10 inch vents, this meant that the original seal around he vents were not going to be as structurally flawless as before the 10 inch vents. My plumber told me the workers should have known that to vent a kitchen exhaust and a bathroom exhaust, they both need 6 inch galvanized steel pipes running out of the roof with a larger vent to accommodate for the large air mass flowing out. In conclusion, I love the roof, but I am not satisfied with their after sales services.

Approximate cost of services:
$10,500.00

Company Response

Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. In this scenario there were some circumstances that caused a delay in replacing the vents in your system. Our installer was informed that he was required to return to site and replace the vents but first had to get in touch with the HVAC contractor you had hired. Our installer did have quite some trouble getting in touch with this worker which caused some delays in correcting the situation. Communication with our service department during this time was constant as we did want to ensure that your concerns were addressed as soon as possible. It is our understanding that these issues have since been resolved. We do apologize for any inconvenience you experienced but are glad that we were able to satisfy your request as soon as we were able to coordinate with the HVAC contractor.
