Three attempts, and still couldn't get the job right. We got a lot of excuses but the result is an incredibly poorly done job, crooked with huge gaps in the mortar. We will have to have the work redone by a competent professional. We had to nag to get the site cleaned and we ended up doing a lot on our own.

Workmanship is completely awful. We hired John a couple of summers ago to repair our concrete step. A 1 day job (as he said) ended up being a month, and even after that, it was not satisfactory.

The job itself was horrible, but to add insult to injury he would pour the left over cement over our grass claiming it would wash away. We ended up having to re-sod as well as re-plant as he left a mess of concrete over our interlock and garden area. We left the job as is and lived with it, until now.

Noticed just yesterday that his crafty work is now coming up everywhere. Just lifting off the entire step in huge chunks...and underneath is nothing but wet mush. Completely unacceptable.

UPDATE:
To John's credit, he did come back (2 years later) and fully repaired the front step good enough for us to sell our house. Not many companies would guarantee work after this length of time.
