We had a separate entrance done that is now crumbling, because it was not done properly. We contacted John and he wanted to charge us to fix his error. They have now blocked me on FB so I cannot message them anymore after telling me they would get back to me in 24 hours!

You were blocked from FB for leveling false accusations and trying to tarnish the reputation of JMCI.
Here are the facts:1. The job was done 11 years ago.
2. The job was done properly and up to the Building Code in 2005. A scope of work was created at that time, and approved by yourself. The drawings were approved and stamped by the city. Inspections took place throughout the job, and the permit was closed following an inspection by municipal officials who confirmed that the job had been done properly in 2005.
3. JMCI consistently recommends work be completed to better than Code and, depending on the job, sometimes significantly better than Code, in order to ensure better than average structural integrity through bad weather as well as use and lack of maintenance. Of course, the more reinforcement a job involves, the more expensive the job becomes. The picture which you have shown demonstrates damages caused by lateral frost heaving.
4. You advised by email in 2014 that another contractor had proposed to repair and reinforce the project for less than half the price which we quoted at that time, once again showing that cost was the more important factor to you. While the implication was left that you would proceed with the other contractor, it now appears that you were not even willing to pay that lower cost.
5. JMCI has no error to “fix” as the building permit process clearly supports the proper procedure of our work. There is a saying, “Pay now (for a job done above and beyond the minimum), or pay more later to remedy potential problems.
To refresh your memory, we are forwarding copies of the original job, together with copies of the quote to firm up the wall following damage from frost. In that manner you can recall the true facts of our business dealings with one another.
It is quite clear that you have intentionally chosen to threaten JMCI with damage to our reputation by addressing this complaint, after two years of silence, through social media rather than by private e-mail or telephone as an ordinary person would do. We suspect that you have chosen this route to try to coerce JMCI into providing services to you to firm up the wall at no cost to you. We will no longer do business nor will we respond to your threats. Your posts to FB and now Home Stars excluded the facts, which were exceedingly relevant to any individual seeing your posts and trying to decide whether to do business with JMCI. We see this as intentional on your part. Here is another fact. A person commits the offence of libel when they publish (through social media or elsewhere) an untruth about another which will do harm to that person or his/her reputation.I trust that this finalizes all of the issues between us.
