I had two problem areas in my basement, where damp was penetrating the foundation walls and seeping into the finished basement areas. After remediating for damp and mould, I approached 3 companies for a quote for waterproofing. DryShield were recommended to me by a friend who had used them in the past on a similar project.
Roy came out to see me on two separate occasions to price the work and to make sure that I was comfortable with the planned approach. I felt as though he went out of his way to educate me on how both internal and external waterproofing are meant to work and why internal waterproofing was the best option with my partially dug out basement. Though one of the other quotes that I received was a similar price to that quoted by DryShield, I felt most comfortable with Roy's advice which was more educational than the usual sales pitch that one might receive in such a situation. I believe Roy was genuinely interested in the relationship between homeowner and contractor, which I appreciated.
Steve and his team of 3 other men arrived early on the first day of work with clear instructions on what was required and began to work right away since they were happy with the demolition work that I had used another contractor for. Roy also popped in on Day 1 of the project to make sure that nothing was left to chance and the waterproofing design was clearly understood by the construction team. Work was completed within the 2 day schedule and the basement left was neat and tidy for the holiday season.
