COUNTRY WIDE HOMES - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

i have recently purchased a home from Countrywide. i totally agree with all of the previous complaints from unsatisfied customers. their customer care is absolutely horrible. They have been brushing me off for months... the design studio representatives are very unprofessional and ignorant when it comes to their customers. I have had numerour problems at the design studio, they lost my file.. which i don't understand how that can even happen? the design care consultant had obviously no clue what she was talking about, she made numerous mistakes on plan, quoted me with different (wrong) prices which i then had to surprisingly deal with by paying extra money than what i was first quoted. It is very sad to see such beautiful houses with such beautiful designs but then such poor quality individuals standing behind them. They do not stand behind their word or product. I WOULD NEVER buy from Countrywide again... it has been a horrible experience.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

WARNING TO ALL!!!! Country wide provdides terrible cutomer service!!!! Since we moved in we have had nothing but headaches!! They quality in customer care is a big ZERO!! We have reffered 2 buyers to which we were never compensated or even thanked for because a certain individual forgot to write it in the final papers!!!!! We never recieved a welcome basket even though we mentioned it like a million times!!!! We had to pay for our own recycling bins to the city even though we paid them through the builder which again we never were compensated in any which way or form. When it comes to them performing duties as to services calls and getting things repaired they take forever or simply keep forgetting to book them!!! I have been here for 8 months and i call them at least 2-3 times a week and issues never get resolved. One day they will book appointments for you and when you call them back to see when the appionments are they tell you that they can't do anything about it. They have also made me take time off work to have trades come in only to find out that no one showed up. I have purchased homes in the past from Arista and Green park and they were both excellent!!!! The staff at Country Wide is bad mannered and its so sad to say that when your purchasing from them they are all pleasent and happy to be at your service once they have your money its a whole other ball game!!!!!! I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER COUNTRY WIDE HOME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Victoria Square

We knew that CountryWide Homes was a fairly new builder and were hesitant at first. Then we explored their various communities and model homes. We happened to be at one community in Thornhill that was hosting a neighbourhood party and decided to join in as a chance to speak to buyers. They were so pleased and raving about their experience. We recently took possession of our new home and were absolutely thrilled about how it turned out. The customer service we received was excellent. We learned a lot about construction through the process and would definitely do it again. We have recommended other friends and family and received a referral fee from builder! This was really nice. Our friends are happy so far - that makes us feel good about referring.

Customer Service

I bought the house in Bradford, as per the contract the Countrywide should provide the garbage bins, we paid higher price then from municipality. Not a big deal - everybody would think, we thought it is ok. The problem is we never got the bins, even though we called 5 or 6 times, the customer service is terrible. Just imagine how many people paid for it and never got it. I would never deal with Countrywide again.

New Home

I bought a new home from Countrywide in Thornhill area. First of all the sales people are very arrogant and rude, they do not want to help you unless you show up with Rolex watches and BMWs. Unfortunately we were looking to get into the market early and the price looked cheap when compared with other/better builders, so we bought from Countrywide. Its been a struggle ever since we bought the home. The house was rushed to completion and many items remain missing, critical items like electrical sockets, missing windows, holes in walls. When we call for service, we can only get appointment three month in the future, and frequently they reschedule or not show up, causing another three month appointment. When the service tech does show up, only minor items are fixed, all of the critical things remain unfixed. We were so frustrated that most of the time we hired our own contractors to fix things under warranty. Calling to file a complaint only makes this bad builder show its colour, not only are they ready to fight with you, they threaten you (as they know where you live). A few times the construction workers purposely block you or dump their garbage on your lawn, surely because I am percieved to be a troublemaker. I will avoid this builder and its parent/affiliated company in the future as they have totally failed me.

CountryWide Homes - Bradford Dreamfields Home Purchase

My Girlfriend and I had decided to purchase a home in the Bradford dreamfields division. It is a brand new build and the community has a lot of potential for growth. We decided to purchase with Countrywide Homes due to there floor plans and lay out in February 2009. Basically buying from this company in my eyes has become a massive mistake and we should have realized it from the beginning when dealing with the terrible sales rep. we had who is suppose to be the sales manager. Our sales rep. was at times to say the best very rude and we found that he would speak to us as children ( we are both in our thirties). it took forever to get all the changes signed off and we were constantly chasing him down in order to simple get our purchase offer back.

Next we move to the building stage of things in our signed off offer by the architect and the builder there were some structural changes nothing big really a removal of a wall in the upstairs and a removal of an arch way. We thought these were not big changes, Our sales rep said these were minor changes.

However, when the building started and the framing started the main floor archway was installed and when brought to the builders attention we were told that the building on our unit would be stoped so that they could get everything fixed.the following weekend we visited our house to see more work down. again we went to the sales office and told them they had to stop, this problem must be fixed first. following weekend same thing except the electrical had been done. again we went to the sales office and demanded they stop working on the house. that Monday we made many phone calls to the head offices and after speaking with many people we scheduled a meeting with the foreman for the site. the following weekend we met with the foreman he understood exactly what our problem was and said not a problem everything will be fixed before we move on to anything else, but also let us know he was not staying on this site and would be conveying the info to the new foreman. Guess what folks message was never delivered.

Instead the plumbing was installed and the concrete floor was poured in the basement locking in all the incorrect plumbing. when we went to the new foreman to tell him of his mistakes we were told we are wrong and our original plan that again was signed off on could not be done. We reported this to the head office and was told don't worry he will be corrected and everything will be done properly. we continued to visit and things were still being done improperly when we finally spoke to the foreman basically we were told that the way its done is the way its done and not to bother him any longer he is done with our issue ( this is the nice way of explain what he said no reason to repeat the foulness that came from his mouth)when he had basically told off and berated my girlfriend and nothing else could be done.

Picture this if you can a living room with a walkway or archway in the middle of it with a bulk head built on the side of it right in the middle of the living room. this is between where you would have a couch and the view of your TV think how that would look with a 2 foot wide bump hanging from your ceiling

This was reported to the head office 2 weeks later this foreman was fired and a new one was hired.

I went to meet the new foreman and the 1st foreman that was working this job again on location and was told don't worry everything will be fixed and fixed right just give us 2- 3 weeks.
3 weeks later visited and nothing was done
When i called the new foreman I was told he had no excuses and it just had not been done

Everything in the house has been fixed to a certain degree. I have never experienced a company that is so rude or unprofessional in my life. especial when dealing with high end items like a house I am sorry to say I would not buy from this company again and would strongly advise that others do not as well.

If we hadn't visited our home we would have never known about this building issue and would have been very upset when we moved in.

Instead we have moved in yet, are already very upset due to the over 20 100km drives back and forth and on top of that have been treated extremely badly by there staff

Buyer Beware
