Well the nice salesman turned up with nothing but praise for the construction of my two sofa's,showing us his samples of how well the springs and frame are constructed and well worth the inflated price of $3250 to recover.
So we agreed to go ahead and signed the contract on the understanding we would receive our sofa,s back like new.
First problem was extra charge for fabric guard which after negotiating a more realistic cost we reluctantly agreed to pay.
Now the main issue;
out of the blue a phone call saying the springs are no good and need
replacing at a ridiculous cost. Rosa had numerous telephone calls stating they should provide sofa's in a new condition as originally agreed (see first paragraph). She spoke to a "John" from the factory who then agreed to replace them free of charge.
Can you believe this; when we eventually used them the springs creaked really bad.
So called the complaints department about the noisy springs and was told they weren't replaced and "John" does not exist!!!!
The nice lady? in customer complaints told me in no uncertain terms that the back side of the contract states they are only responsible for work agreed on the front and basically i am stuck with it.
Point one: is the back side of the contract written in the smallest font available, i am 61 years old and still can't read it.
Point two: their salespeople should be more honest, this man came into my house enjoyed my hospitality and gave the impression you were a reputable company and respected the customer. We are not experts on furniture construction and sincerely believed they would be as good as new.
Point three: surely after identifying a problem with the springs it can;t be professional to recover and sell a known defective product.
Interestingly the springs did not creak before the work??
So here i am thousands of dollars out of pocket,unemployed and left with two musical sofa's.
Thank you T.M.C.
