All house windows and doors replacement

We had our all house windows and entrance and patio doors replaced and bay window build by Meridian Windows and Doors.
The product is exceptional, we didn't know that our windows were not that good before, now there is a difference in warmth, quietness and the look.
Our new sliders can be tilted inside for easy cleaning (feature not available in local competition). Meridian windows are made in Ontario and come here from the competition of 350 factories producing windows, compare to 15 factories in Calgary. They are made of higher UPVC vinyl and have standard 25 years warranty. We've done our research.
After 5 estimates we had done, Meridian windows were about 30% lower by price then a competition with comparable quality. Installation was done in 6 weeks as promised and the payed 20% deposit and the balance on the completion with our full satisfaction.
We were concerned to deal with not local business, but after getting references from the salesperson and checking a business bureau and especially after we've got our experience with this company we would definitely recommend Meridian Windows and Doors.

replaced majority of the windows in my home

The initial installation and service of our new windows was very good. The job was done in a day and all the windows and debris removed. However, after two years the window sashes began to fall away from many of the windows and some of the window will not close at the top (single close lever at the bottom of the window) I have been calling or emailing for over five months and the company will not return calls and seemingly refuse to honour their lifetime warranty. I cannot recommend this company

front and garage entry door installation

The staff who came to our house give us an estimate were friendly and knowledgeable. They sat down with us and went over what we wanted, gave us advice on options. We had to wait a bit for our door to be constructed in Ontario, but it was ready when they said it would be and they were prompt and courteous when we set a date for our door installation. THis was done in the spring time when things were still a bit muddy but they were good about keeping our house clean and not muddying up too much. All in all a good experience. We would consider them again for future windows/doors.

Storm Door

Custom Storm Door Horrible experience. I visited their showroom as I am long term beach resident and really try and support local retailers. I paid $1000 for a full view storm door(not cheap) and was told 4 weeks for del and install. After 5 weeks I called and the employee vocalized out loud why had the manufacturer not gotten it to them. Someone then got on the phone and stated they would deliver it on Monday while I was at work and install. When I came home I was to say the least disappointed. It was not the door I was shown on the display. It was trimwork slapped around the frame and secured with 13 silver screws(on a taupe frame). The trimwork had been thrown into the garden. The screws were not even drilled properly and the fullview glass door meant to show off the newly painted red door had about 6 inches of silver chainlink hanging in plain view. I called to speak with someone for 3 days(no return calls). I then left a detailed message on the VM as it was now into the following week and a holiday weekend. Additionally, they had charged the full funds without authorization to charge final deposit. I recieved a call from my home on that Wednesday that someone had come and taken the door and frame. Still no call from Jaimco( they simply came and removed it) and by the way had my previous door so I was left with no storm door. I again called and Gord who sold me the door apologized and said I should come in and talk to the owner and that he had not heard all of the details such as trim bein thrown in the garden!. He then stated it was not necessary to come in he would issue the full refund immediately and mail me the receipt. He also commented that he had just learned that they can put screw caps on so not sure why screws were not capped etc.???. He was not aware they had taken the door with no communciation and again assured me they would issue a full refund that day. That was one week ago and after calling 3 times to inquire as to refund and assured it was being handled and someone would call me back, I finally got a call from the owner Jamie( extremely unprofessional) saying he was holding a restocking fee of $140!!! He has had my money for 7 weeks, still has my previous door and I have yet to see a refund. When I explained he would not be charging me a $140 fee and I expected a full refund, he hung up on me and proceeded to hang up on me when I again called back- almost comical if it were not true, would think it was a skit or being punked. I have been in senior sales and operations roles and I have to say- Go to a Home Depot or a Lowes where at least you can mitigate your risk and have a guarantee. By the way Home Depot has a beautiful door, custom for $600 but I now have to wait another four weeks for install. DO not use this place. Sadly, unless I can touch feel and take it with me I will think twice before buying a product or service from an independent. And I can assure the owner of Jaimco Doors he will lose more than $140 he is trying to charge. His staff must feel really proud to work for this company.....wow. Be Warned!

Leaky New Windows

I hired Meridian to install windows. I am writing now because recent remodeling in my house revealed that Meridian never bothered to put any weather stripping between the window frame and the house. I learned this fact when I removed the skimpy wood stripping that held the windows in place. I could see outside through openings all along the window. That explains the constant street noise and the fact that the windows leaked during rains and insulation is terrible.

I CANT GET THEM TO COME BACK THEY IGNORE MY CALLS AND MESSAGES and BRUSH ME OFF WHEN I SPEAK TO THEM.

Door Replacement Project

4 doors were replaced. The sales team was exceptional, promises galore and rave reviews how great they are and how superior their doors and windows are.

The installation was a disaster, the french door was meant to open outwards, and it was installed backwards. After much debate I decided to keep the door opening inwards as even their installer admitted that that door was always manufactured to open inwards and I could have problems with leakage if i turn it around. The front door was installed at an angle (this was corrected). The garange door is still missing screws in the hinges.

The doors look really great, function well, however the installers were a disaster and for this reason I would not recommend the company.

Window/door installation

5 windows (1 custom, including enlargement) and 1 new outside french door replaced existing 1980's windows. Didn't feel like as much of a deal as was promised. Wrong windows & screens arrived first time - took over a week to rectify. Clean up not complete. Product seems a bit flimsy. Installers very efficient, but damaged a glass patio table by putting a running saw on it. Company has not phoned back since last check was handed over, despite some questions around deficiencies (e.g. damaged table!!!). Appeared to be some lack of communication between installers & head office.

Screen Door Installation

The door is wonderful...It was installed correctly and the installers were fabulous and very neat and tidy...the only problem I had was how long it took for a return phone call and how long it took to actually get the door installed....from 1st phone call to installation took 3 months and my door is not a special make...It is an average door....
