Cando Renovations

I contacted Bert to remove a load-bearing wall in my kitchen. He was prompt to respond and was there early as agreed. The work took a day and a half because of some modification that needs to be done and to check with my engineer. He's professional and easy to deal with. I will definitely recommend him to my clients and use him again in my future home reno projects.

Bert and his team were very professional and thorough with their work. We were very impressed with the overall outcome of our fireplace, as well as with the removal of a wall in our family room. We would highly recommend his services, and we look forward to working with him again.

I called up Bert at cando renovations to remove what was originally thought to be a load bearing wall. Bert came in a day or so later to provide a free estimate on the work to be done. He showed up exactly the time he said he would. He provided a fair price and I gave him the job. Work began the following Monday. Bert and his crew were once again on time and ready to work. Bert was able to identify the wall was in fact not load bearing and preceeded to remove the wall. He assured me that there was enough structural support and that a post would not be needed after all, which was an ever better outcome. Job was done in a day and a half. Job was done as scheduled, good quality, and the estimate given did not change. I would definitely call in Cando for any other future renovations and I highly recommend them. Bert was a pleasure to deal with.

It was a long, dirty, costly and time consuming time that's for sure. Our house is admired by all who come in and we couldn't be more proud :) All though there were a few bugs along the way, Bert was quite responsive and addressed each one :) Our house is a real gem thanks to Cando Renovations, THANK YOU!!!

Surprise Reno because of discovery of Mold . Cando was recommended to me . As soon as I told Bert my story ( my son has health issues and cannot be exposed to Mold) he came and looked, and took the job. The Cando crew is efficient and was very respectful of my home. Bert helped make the best of a really bad situation .

We started a renovation thinking the wall we wanted gone could be easily removed. When we discovered it was a load barring wall we were put in a position to find someone to help us as soon as possible. My husband found Bert right here on homestars and he was able to come the same day and we hired him to do the job. He finished the work in one day with great professionalism and knowledge. He is extremely hard working, friendly and his team is great. We will recomend Bert and his team to all our friends.

We're currently undergoing a home reno and I wanted my kitchen opened up so I called Bert to quote me on removing a load bearing wall after reading his reviews on HomeStars. Naturally I was a bit hesitant as Bert was the only contractor I had working in my house that didn't come from a recommendation or I personally knew. Bert was quick to alleviate any fear or hesitancy I had and was great in walking me through the process. His team showed up on time (actually 10 minutes early), kept the project within the timeline stated and on budget. I would recommend him to friends and family and WILL use him again for future projects. While he was there we actually had him do some pot lights as well; couldn't be happier with the outcome.

We hired Cando Renovations to do a rough opening for a closet in a load bearing wall that also had a brick veneer. Our experience echoed the other reviews here: Bert and his team were knowledgeable, approachable, fast (the entire job took about 4 hours), cost competitive with the other bids we received, and overall a pleasure to work with. The only con is that there was a lot of dust (from cutting the bricks). They did use fans to blow most of it outside, but a lot ended up in the house anyway. Maybe some plastic sheets or something would have helped isolate the area.

That said, we're happy with the work and we'll definitely be considering them for future renovations. Thanks, Bert!

Bert and his team recently removed a load bearing wall in our home. We had little experience with renovations being new home owners. Bert took the time to explain the process of each project so that we could make an informed decision. They were punctual, efficient, worked neatly and really knew what they were doing. This is a trustworthy company and I would highly recommend based on my experience with Bert.

Bert is the epitome of professionalism. Bert and his crew tore down a load bearing wall in my home. I called Bert on Thursday Oct. 10. Explained what I needed done (8ftWx8ftH LBwall removal) On Friday he was at my home in Mississauga to evaluate the job. He stuck to his quote and started work on Monday. Job was done by Tuesday. The overall cost was 60% cheaper than what I was quote from another contractor. I will be calling Bert when it is time to do my basement. I HIGHLY recommend him
