I found Reach Restoration on Homestars and was impressed by the consistently excellent reviews. Jim and his crew definitely deserve the highest praise. They are professional, knowledgeable, skillful, hardworking and tidy. I especially appreciate Jim's particular expertise in restoration. My late 1800s home's stone and lime-mortar foundation was deteriorating due to the inappropriate use of cement to parge. Jim understood this and his team removed the cement and repointed the foundation. It looks terrific! Jim and his team will be the ones to maintain my foundation and bricks from here on in! Thanks again.

We had a very positive experience with Jim and his team at Reach Restoration. He kept us posted via email on his arrival date (postponed due to weather) and showed up when he said he would. He was polite and professional and knew what he was doing. They put every effort into safety (ensuring proper scaffolding) and courteousness to neighbours, as they did on the chimney tuckpointing itself. We could really see the end result. Quote was competitive and reasonable. Our neighbours have already used them as well!

When we wanted to hire Reach Restoration a company we had seen working on houses around us in the Annex, we asked a friend, a famous Torontonian home restorer, what he thought of Reach. He came back immediately with his answer. “Reach Restoration is a great company. Jim Urquart is the principal and he is a dedicated, personable individual who works really hard and seems to love these restorations. I do not use anybody else for brick turning, pointing and restoration to be honest - Jim is my man. I truly enjoy Jim and in terms of pricing he is very fair - keeping in mind that restoration can be an expensive task. - grinding out mortar, for instance, is painstaking and pricey” We hired REACH and totally agree with the recommendations of our friend. After reading all the great reviews, we got a quote from Reach Restoration to do exterior caulking and other minor repairs on our house. After meeting Jim in person and going over the project, we knew we could trust him and would enjoy working with him. Jim and Chris did the work - they were professional, hardworking, neat and clearly took pride in doing a good job. As mentioned in other reviews, the communication was great -- Jim kept us well-informed before and throughout the week it took to complete the work. We highly recommend Reach Restoration and look forward to working with Jim and his crew again in the future.

We had a wonderful experience working with Reach Restoration on our property. They were responsible for tuckpointing all three elevations of our home as well as rebuilding our chimney. Jim and his crew were easily the best contractors we have had working on our property. They kept in constant communication with us regarding when they would be coming as well as when they foresaw the project's completion. They came everyday before 8:00 and stayed a full workday, often working beyond regular hours to complete their goal for the day. As well, they kept the work area exceptionally tidy and were incredibly meticulous in their work. Clearly they take pride in the final product. Finally, they were unbelievably polite, patient and knowledgable in answering any concerns or questions we had (including our young children's!). I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a more honest and frankly, refreshing, company to work with!

Jim and his team did an amazing job. They were fast and efficient at providing a comprehensive and competitive quote, they started work when they said they would (actually a bit earlier), the whole team was courteous and professional and respectful of the neighbours, and the work was top notch. The colour match on the mortar was almost perfect (which is one of the hardest things to do with tuck pointing), and Jim addressed any concerns I had immediately and without question. And lastly they left the job site clean and tidy and the end of each day. They were a pleasure to work with and I would recommend them to anyone.

Jim and his crew were professional, courteous, and reliable. While outdoor work is weather-dependent, we had a strict timeline and Jim was able to meet our needs by working over the weekend. He gave us daily updates as to the progress of the project and allowed us to plan other house-related work around it. We are extremely happy with the end product!

We had a chimney and windowsills redone. Jim and Brendan showed up on time, did an excellent job, and were very nice to deal with. We would definitely recommend this company.

We had a major renovation in 1998 that included a lot of external brickwork in the rear of the house. Many bricks had since begun to crumble.
We called Jay Charendoff of HOUSE CALLS Renovation/Advisors to suggest how we ought to deal with the problem.
Jay visited with us looked at all the problem locations, then studied our architectural drawings to determine the structure behind the bricks. He identified the cause of the problem (water seeping into the bricks that were uncapped).
He provided a referral to Reach Restoration (Jim), and discussed the problem with the company on our behalf.
Jim and his team were courteous, reliable and professional.
The work was performed cleanly and on time. We would recommend them to others without hesitation.
