Greenwall Krisbe

Greenwall Krisbe was hired to do a renovation for us. The scope was to tear down a kitchen and frame a three story addition to our house with no finishing to be done. I think that Kris was over-extended and did not have enough crew to do our job in a timely manner. The project was to last 8 weeks. After 8 months, we decided to part ways. I would drop by some days to find that no work had been done for several days at a time. After putting pressure on Kris, he decided to sub-contract the job to another crew from the Yellow Pages. This crew sub-contracted most of the work out to another crew. After months of delay, our payment schedule was switched to a milestone basis to ensure forward movement of the project. The new crew was expecting pay every Friday, which was not a part of our deal. This led to a rush job with badly sloping walls and deficiencies that are too many to list here. We have had to spend many thousands of dollars to correct some of these problems, and some could not be corrected without starting over.

Kris and his team were at best uneven. And their ability to stay on the job left a lot to be desired.

Kris's subcontractor who did our bathroom tiling did a great job on time and on budget.

Our kitchen renovation on the other hand turned out fine but took forever. This was hard on our family and I had to repeatedly call to get the team to come back and move the job forward. My sense was that these folks were juggling a number of jobs as most contractors do and they got stacked up. I don't know how to get past this type of problem but I know it's no fun to live through.

Kris is a nice guy and he tries hard but big jobs and scheduling seem to be a major challenge.

I think Greenwall is fine for small, interior jobs but I'd hesitate to recommend them for larger jobs or external jobs.

I hired Kris to do cabinet refacing. He drew up a contract, i gave him half the deposit of $2100 to order the doors at a Lowes store. Weeks had passed and no updates or nothing from him. I kept having to call him and he would say he is looking into in and would get back to me. Of course he would never get back to me, i kept having to call and he always had an excuse. We made an appt. for 10 am one day where i took the day off work. 10am came, then 11, 12 1 oclock and i already left several messages where he never returned my call. I eventually got a hold of him using another phone number, he answered and told me another excuse which made me suspicious. turns out he never ordered these cupboards after i did some investigating. in this case i'm not giving him the benifit of the doubt after the run around he gave me. i would never ever reccommend anyone to this guy. i hired him for a previous job, asked for references, they turned out good (probably friends and family)and he was pretty good then, that's how i decided to go back with him second time around. I don't know what his problem is this time around, but very unprofessional and glad to be rid of his business. P.S I did get my deposit back, even that was a bit of a hassle, said he would drop it off, after a no show for that i decided to go to his place and collect, which he left in the mailbox. Not worth the hassle or stress.

We hired Kris after receiving a flyer in our box - which turned out to be a mistake. He was very friendly when providing the quote and said all the right stuff when questioned but failed to deliver on several fronts.

His crew failed to show up on time, removed all the exterior sheathing from the back of our home, and then left us freezing through 3 weeks over Christmas and most of January. Our son's bedroom wall was developing frost on the INTERIOR surface and the windows were hanging on by a thread (a fall hazard for our young son). He tried to "up-sell" us on a bathroom re-do since some of the tiles were damaged during the window replacement but I wasn't up for continuing this battle.

We dismissed him after this supposed week-long (his promise) project lasted more than 6 MONTHS. The workmanship was terrible (some of which I had to re-do before we hired a new contractor - PCL Interior Exterior Finishes, who are excellent) and he refused to accept any responsibility for sub-par work. Clearly this project was out of his league and the crew had no idea what they were doing.

We have had Kris take on a variety of projects around our aging Beaches Semi. He is a reliable guy who comes when he says he's going to and does a great job. The crews he had working in our home were always courteous, friendly people - people we always felt comfortable having in our home. He will be the first person we call for our next job.
