New-Wes-Valley

New Wes Valley created a garden space in our front yard with pavers and edgers matching our existing interlock driveway. Gardens and interlock landscaping in our back yard, including planting of cedars that I had bought. Stepping stones were installed through the backyard to provide a pathway to the shed at the back of the property. Work was done promptly and we are very satisfied with the workmanship and quality. The step stones weren't as big as I was expecting but, to be fair, we didn't actually discuss the size of the stones.

LAURIE was an exceptional person to deal with and she was there when I needed the most. Her Team came every day on time and completed the job as scheduled. Not only that, she was very very customer friendly. I will recommend her to any one anytime without any hesitation ... Just amazing Business professional person. She explains things to you like it is her own house project. MOST OF ALL, THE PRICE IS JUST RIGHT ...

We needed to replace one of the steps and repair the stairs in front of the house. I tried to contact a few companies, some of them even came to give me estimates, but then just disappeared. I found good references for New-Wes Valley on this website and called Laurie for a quote. She came to my house in the evening on the same day and spent more than an hour going over different options with me. She gave me a few good advices that overall saved me money.
Her quote was very reasonable and the quality of the work that she's done was superior. The job was done as agreed and on time.
Like in every business, this small project had its challenges and Laurie overcame them with excellence.
One of her sub-contractors didn't show up for work as promised and she lost a couple days because of him. She called me to apologize for the delay. In the end, she came and did the job by herself, and stayed until mid-night to finish the job. You don't find such dedication very often in this business!
I will gladly recommend Laurie to all my friends and neighbours.
In fact, two of my neighbours already hired her to do some work.

Laurie and her crew had done some work on our street and came highly recommended by our neighbour who had work done by them.

Laurie was very personable and agreed to fix numerous problems with the property we inherited from the previous owners including an improperly laid patio, front and back steps, and drainage issues on the property. They also were chosen to install a new interlocking walkway and install new sod in the front and back yard.

The crew was fantastic, worked hard, and the job looks professionally finished.

My only complaints are that Laurie isn't on the job and instructing the crew as to what we requested. We had a surplus of tumbled stone I wanted incorporated into a square pad in the back corner of the yard. Instead, they took the stones (for another job?) and reused some builder patio slabs that I wasn't enthused about. This section looks ok, but not exactly what I was after. Laurie said she would return stones when we questioned her about their whereabouts, but by then the work had been done.

New-Wes-Valley only accepts cash, which makes it extremely difficult to work with them if you're talking large sums of money. If you're working with online only banks, forget dealing with these guys. I had to borrow cash from family and reimburse them with a cheque in order to have cash on hand. I think an existing company should have money in the bank to pay suppliers and employees until a money order or certified cheque clears (the reason for their 'cash only' policy I was given).

The crew just disappeared at the end of the day, I don't know if they didn't want to disturb me or what, but, I think it'd be helpful to walk the homeowner through what's going on during the process. Our repair was a three day event and Laurie stopped by a couple of times. I thought she might have stopped by to see what I thought, but, she'd come and then disappear without so much as a word.... Strange....

Overall I was satisfied with the work, it looks really nice and I thought the crew was awesome. A couple of gripes kept the experience from being totally pleasurable. I'd recommend them, but make sure you keep yourself informed, and have the ability to pay in cash.

Saw a neighbour's front walkway, similar house to ours (corner lot) with a walkway from the front door, around a corner to the driveway and then along the driveway to the sidewalk.

Laurie showed up at our house late in the evening, had samples of the brick, binder of previous jobs and addresses where we could actually see their work.

Other places we contacted for estimates were double the price and weren't able to do the job right away. We wanted to be able to enjoy it, not get it done in time for the snow.

New West's crew showed up and in 2 days, one of which rained, got the job done and we love it. In fact, we've recommended them to several people already.

First time you call her she's in front of your house the next day with a truck full of Stones and Slabs to choose from. She also got some pictures to show but nothing is compared if you see it and touch the stones yourself and be excited on the project. They did exactly what I want and offered suggestions to make it low cost but still looks very good. She also gave names of people in the neighborhood that they have done so me and my husband just drove and see their company name on the lawns of the houses around Lakeside in Ajax and got ideas on our own front walkway. I like the look of our front house now!
