Sam The Handyman

Sam is great, fast, prompt, friendly. He can offer lots of free advice on other home owner questions too. He does a great job of being flexible schedule and keeping you informed.

I have been using Sam for the last few years. As my home is nearly 80, there have been a number of issues to be addressed over recent years. Sam has done concrete work, roofing and a full chimney replacement as well as tree trimming. In all jobs Sam has been prompt, very resonable, and quick to communicate with. He explains exactly what is occurring, how the work will be done, and any options that are available. He solves any issues in thebest possible fashion while doing so in the most economical way. He addresses any concerns or questions I have had immediately, without delay. The work has always been excellent, done exactly when he says it will be done, and to cost, with no hidden fees. Cleanup is excellent. I wish all the contractors I have dealt with over the years had half the business integrity and follow through as Sam does. I would recommend Sam to anyone, especially my mother! Thanks Sam.

Unfortunately, the first roofer I used to fix my leak was not found via HomeStars. They do appear lower down the list, and with good reason. After a failed effort and months of delays from the other roofer, I looked up and found Sam the Handyman. They had someone at my house the next day. Their quote was thorough and by email, and it addressed all of the issues and errors that the other company did not. While it was not a big job, it was tricky, because of the location of the leak. The other roofer didn't bring the necessary equipment to get it sealed properly. Coincidentally, the day after the repairs were done, we had a huge rainfall. After watching water drip for weeks, it was finally dry! I definitely recommend Sam and his guys for any work that you need. And I will most certainly be checking this site before calling anyone again!

Sam was great from start to finish. He came out to review my chimney issues within 24 hours of contacting him and had a quote for me by the next day. His crew was quick and very professional and did a great job repairing the top part of the chimney and installed a nice new rain cap.

I did try another contractor first because his price was lower by $400. That was a mistake as they just never showed up the next day. Could not find them on HomeStars and I called Sam to come to do the job which was done perfectly. My mistake was to go with a cheaper price instead of checking who was better.
Sam and his employees were polite, thorough and top notch. I needed the work done quickly and from original estimate to clean up the service was fantastic. I would recommend Sam the handyman in a heartbeat for this kind of work to any of my friends, relatives and colleagues.

I just had my roof redone by Sam the handyman and was very impressed with the entire operation. From getting the estimate, to having the job done, cleaning up the site and inspecting the end job, Sam and his roofers were very professional. I had a new roof installed 3 years ago by another company and since realized that the job was sub-standard. I asked Sam to analyze the previous job, repair what was immediately required and to prepare a report for future reference. Sam and Joe came the very next day, as was promised, and he did a very thorough and detailed job. Very nice, very professional and very much appreciated.

We woke on a Saturday in early February after two days of rain / snow to find that the ceiling in our master bedroom closet had huge water stains on it with the light fixture filled like a fish bowl. I tried first to call three other supposedly reputable roofing companies with no success. One out of the three called me back after an hour only to tell me that they would only come if water was pouring in which it wasn't. The leak was bad enough however that we didn't want to chance waiting two full days without having it addressed or looked at by a professional. Then I remembered the Home stars webpage and saw that Sam had many rave reviews particularly in the area of emergency repairs so I called them next. They should have been my first call. To my amazement Sam called me back within 10 minutes and said they could have one of their guys swing by within the hour to have a look and make any necessary repairs. True to his word, Sam and couple guys arrived, and made the minor repairs to stop the leaking. Not only that but he took digital photos of the problem and inspected the rest of the roof to make sure there were no more issues which he said there weren't. Sam acted and did the work you wish all contractors did - quickly, professionally and with no b.s. We will use them again for our gutter replacement this spring and for any future roofing issues that arise. Thanks Sam!
