We asked Mario to fix a water leak problem and do a few other renovation jobs in our basement. Before he started he assured us that the work was under warranty. Also I asked him to give us a quote and make sure we won't go beyond the agreed cost since we had a fixed budget. But on the first day of the project he surprised me with some structural problems that he had found costing us over ten thousand dollars more than the original quote and he pressured me to give him a response on the spot. I asked him to stop the work and brought a home inspector to get a second opinion. Not surprisingly most of the work that Mario has suggested wasn't essential to do at all. I asked Mario to only finish the water proofing work that he had started. A few days after the completion of the work, after a rainy day we noticed that the floor in some sections was wet again and talking with other contractors after, they raised concerns around the low height of the membrane that he had installed. I asked Mario to come and take a look. He finally showed up but pretty much came up with any excuse possible not to fix the pretty obvious issues with his work and finally got more and more belligerent and left the house. Pretty awful experience overall.
